Watched the hunger games movies over the weekend. Not that impressed really. Got sick of that Peeta bloke pretty quickly. Not read the books but after watching the trailers I was expecting an all out action movie like a cross between running man and predator but it didn't deliver. Both 6/10.

Tis a good watch. Tom hanks at the end is every bit as good an actor as he was in Forrest Gunp. Really felt like he'd been through hell and back.

Ride Along - 5.5/10
easy to watch but its something that has been done time and time again. Kevin Hart has a few funny scenes.

The Divide - 5.5/10

Post apocalyptic drama/sci-fi about a group of people in a New York apartment taking refuge in the bomb shelter in the basement where the caretaker lives and slowly turn on each other. Most of the film takes place in this setting but it is quite big with several rooms. Given the cast it maybe should have been better, Michael Biehn (Aliens, The Abyss, Navy Seals), Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes, Rocky Balboa) & Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction). Instead it lost its way about halfway through before picking up again. After a failed attempt by men in stasis suits leaves 2 dead they use one of the suits to leave the shelter. All that is outside is plastic tunnels like in ET with a lab at the end. Nothing is explained. He returns being exposed and starts to lose his mind, along with his friend. They turn one of the women in to a sex slave before ultimately killing her. Eventually one of the women escapes after getting in to the other suit and going in to the toilets septic tank which was the only way out. On the outside is where you see the devastation and New York has been destroyed. Shame the film ended here because 20-30 minutes of I Am Legend esque post apoc exploration would have been pretty cool, and after 2 hours of being in a basement I think the viewer deserved more.

Divergent - really enjoyed this, seemed to go on a bit too long, may have been because the trailers alone were 40 mins.. I'd give it 8/10 if you like the hunger games,
I'd say it's pretty similar in a lot of ways

Agree with you on something although probably a 7. Bit too similar to hunger games.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier 7.5/10.
Much better than the 3rd one. Not enough of black widow in her tight outfit, even though she has almost as much screen time as captain America.

Submarine - 7/10

Bit random. School kid juggles his girlfriend and her family issues with his parents failing marriage.

Didn't need a thread of its own - But Channel 5 showed The Goonies at 11 last night and the announcer said "with a few extras". Opened with one of the Fratelli's hanging in his cell to fool a guard and the word shit is said quite frequently. Sounds like there are a number of versions out there and quite a few deleted scenes which have never been put in to one cut.

I knew there was a cut octopus scene which I have seen but there is also an additional scene where they stop off at a shop and read Mad magazine and the map gets singed, and an additional scene with Chunk and Sloth.

God I love that film
