im gonna put my biking stuff in here as well as tbh its taken over from cars by quite a margin as my main interest/hobby/fun.

today me and some mates including jimbothebarbarian from here went to glentress, near peebles, in scotland.

top of spooky wood section which looked a bit spooky in the fog!

team screaming noises, all pro riders

the trails are called 7stanes, and at each is a stane, or in english a stone. thats the glentress one, its a meteorite allegedly.

state of my shoes and the water pouring out of them on the cafe floor. the sign said muddy boots welcome.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rzUA6PamJIc&feature=youtu.be

thats my quickest run down there which im happy with as it was pretty damn slippy today.

It's my second favourite behind llandegla actually in terms of fun! Hoping to do llandegla again before the end of the year as there is another section that I've not done according to the trail map near where we go on to the black.

Which run is that mate. I know the jump sections are finished near the car park.
There's 'parallel universe' off the black run.
I've not been yet with the new beast. I'm looking forward to going again. Maybe we'll say ello there one day

see where the red joins the black bottom left of map? there is a black and yellow section but im not sure where it starts at, i think its actually on a berm as ive seen people stood there but just assumed they were fixing a bike

what bike you got col? im after something bigger next year i think, 150/160 travel all mountain sort of thing, probably a trek remedy.

Yes mate.. That's the add on to parallel universe. You know your on it cause it starts with a drop off. Very good section that mate.

I've alway had Scott's. Mines 150 rear 160 front. It's a Scott genius 50 with xt/xtr group set. Really nice bike. Not had it long but I'm happy with it bud.

Cheers mate. Yea.. The wife got me the top to match the bike lol
Llandegla and Gisburn are the best round these ways mate. Gisburn is just hard as my fitness is not the best at the mo lol. But there are some nice runs there. HOPE have helped with some of the trails there.

aye ive done the hope line, its a bit loose in places though think it needs to wear in a bit more. hully gully is very good though. only other one ive done down that way is lee and crag quarry. theyre not too bad for a quick run out.

Lee quary is good like you say for a quick run out. Very rocky. I've not been with this bike but did it on my old hard tale lol.

Hully gully is wicked mate. I love that section from the slab then the slight climb then hully gully.

I need to get out more now I'm back in the uk

What do you do food wise the night before to carb up? I'm struggling to find the right way of eating to give me enough energy to hit big trails the next day without running out of energy.

anything really. mostly eat chicken and rice, or chicken and pasta which is just regular evening food. do you take food with you when you go? i take an emergency mars bar, but rarely ever need it. a few mates will eat a flapjack just before we set off. always good to have a decent breakfast in the mornings anyway.

Yeah I do take a snickers with me and have a good fry up before I go. I don't normally do chicken or rice so I will give that a go and see what happens. Cheers

Well only 8 months later and finally I can get my BMW booked in to bmw to get its air bag mishap sorted. Highways agency are paying the full £2300 or whatever it works out at.

So that's some nice news. Good things do happen to good people after all!!!!

well back in the corsa until the bmw gets fixed. it managed 172 miles to its last full tank so i can see this being an expensive month on fuel ffs.

really did enjoy driving it through carlilse christmas shopping traffic on the way from mine to the gym. definitely built for comfort...

i will get some new pics as i know everyone wants to see them
