Bolt - 8/10

Kids film with one of my favourite quotes recently - "You know, when I was little, I wanted a bicycle for my birthday, but my parents got me a baseball glove. So you know what I did? I pretended that baseball glove was a bicycle, and rode it to school every day. True story."

Empire State 8/10 - had a Trans Am in (automatically worth 5*)

Fifth Estate - 3/10 - generally boring

Hunger Games Catching Fire 7/10 - fight / surviving scenes generally predictable and drawn out. Jennifer Lawrence looks sweaty a lot.

Rush 5/10 too much CGI. too Americanised. Chris Helmsworth cant act.

Man of Steel -

Not sure what to say about this, having seen the originals and the last sequel with Brandon Routh this reboot seems a little disheveled. The way the origins of Clark Kent being shown in flashback and not in sequence as before disrupted the flow of the film for me. No mention of Metropolis or his alter ego being a reporter until the end was a strange decision too. The film looked very good and Henry Cavill was well cast as Superman, although I liked Brandon Routh! Kevin Costner worked well as Jonathan Kent and having seen Michael Shannon in Premium Rush I knew he would play Zod well. I just can't for the life of me work out what Russell Crowe brought to the film. Had I never seen Superman before I dare say I would have enjoyed it a lot more.

As a superman film - 5/10

As a sci-fi action film - 6.5/10

Locke 8/10
Tom Hardy plays a man who eats, sleeps and breathes the cement company he works for and the film centres around his journey home and how his family life/work life and inner demons are tearing him apart.
Like Buried and Phone Booth I guess.

I watch a shit load of films so maybe i'll start contributing in here, never really read this thread

Latest films I've watched;

The Wrestler - 8/10 Mikey Rourke couldn't have been more perfect for the role, great film.

Taxi Driver - 6/10 Not sure why this film is considered iconic. It was average at best, the only good thing about it was De Niro was so convincing.

Argo and Django are on the watch list for the next few days

Agree with Taxi Driver rating Danny, also thought if hugely overrated.
Wrestler is fantastic and IMO better than black swan

Tho Book of Eli - 9/10 I'm sure most have already seen it but if not then do so. Seriously one of the best films you'll see. The ending is up there with the best in any film I've ever seen. As always Denzel is brilliant.

Ill Manors - 8/10 Ben Drew has talent. Fucking buckets of it, as a director/actor/writer. Very gritty, shocking true to life film.

Inception - 8/10 One for the best films of the last 20 years.

Inglorious Basterds - 9/10 Tarantino at his best IMO. Nothing bad to say about that film.

Bronson - 8/10 Even if you've never really bothered to read/see much of Charles Bronson just watch it for Tom Hardy's performance.

3:10 to Yuma - 7/10 Good watch, entertaining and very different to most films as of late. Ben Foster is seriously underrated too. He plays the role of the hard man/psychopath very well. As in most of his films actually.
