Can you not ping strava an email? I'm sure it won't be the first time somebody has been "strava bullied"

found the cycle to work with the pedals and shoes a bit tricky having to stop so much in the town centre at traffic lights. more so clipping back in to the pedal than releasing, when they were a bit wet it was annoying for a few seconds trying not to wobble about.

Replaced my bb on the road bike, powerspline £12, took literally minutes to do and the cranks feel butterly smooth now.

Might be a stupid question, but anyone know if you can hire aero wheels? Want to try a set before shelling out £1000 on some. Anyone have some? Do they genuinely make a difference?

Phone a few shops who sell them - they might be able to advise/get hold of a demo set? There's a thread on Pistonheads where people have bought/reviewed the offerings available from Chinese suppliers, some look pretty good.

I think you can do as I've read about people hiring them for races. Do you have any specific ones in mind?
I've got 82mm carbon wheels on my bike. I couldn't tell you if they make much of a difference as they are all I've ever known.
Flo get really good reviews for the price - http://www.flocycling.com/
At some point next year I'm likely to get a rear disc from them.

Can anybody recommend me a really good turbo trainer? Simple to attach/connect and also one that preferably has an easy to adjust resistance as I've seen some you have to stop and get off to adjust.

Nic, I have a cycle ops trainer, it's a magnetic one and has setting on the trainer for resistance curves, flat road, but hilly and mountains, basically the faster your rear wheel goes the harder it gets. Used it about 10 times. I'd rather ride on ice than suffer on the turbo. Tried watching films, TV, radio, training videos. Just get bored. When I'm riding and I get bored I usually have to suffer a 10-20 mile ride home so can't help but train, and if I get cold I pedal faster

Didn't want to get anything more than 50mm, 2 reasons: one being anything over 50mm puts me into the full aero to class at the local club and the other is I think that'll be fine for road rides for me to notice a difference. I tend to hit about 19-20mph average when riding on my own and when on a social I'm at 18mph.
Was looking at the mavic cosmic sls as it has Ali brake surface, but then on the other hand was looking at Reynolds assaults.

Got myself one of these:
http://turbobiketrainer.com/turbotrainers/elite-volare-mag-speed-turbo-trainer/
picked it up off Gumtree really local for about £50. Only use it over winter in the 'Man Shed' as much prefer the road in summer. Really good but make sure you dont pressure the tyre too much as it can heat up and shed bits of rubber if you're not careful.
Set up a tablet or laptop with training videos to stop the boredom.

Barnes used to do an hour a day on an exercise bike playing Fifa iirc so boredom on a turbo won't be an issue

Heading out for my first mountain bike ride in about 3 months tomorrow. Girlfriend is doing a 60 mile charity ride near Newcastle so I'm going to fill some time in at Hamsterley. Ain't been there in ages.

Did the sport today, fucking amazing! Wasn't last lol but packed up and came home as the weather was starting to turn.
Don't know if you'll read this in time but fuck the caution signs. Pain in the arse and put you off thinking something nasty is coming up, when it isn't.
Have fun!!

Had a good ride round Hamsterley, they have changed a couple of bits since I was there last.
Then went for a ride round dodgy Middlesbrough. Christ it's a rough place.
Girlfriend is doing a charity ride today from Newcastle to Middlesbrough, hence why I ride round it waiting. She's not a cyclist really, so 63 miles is pretty damn impressive. She is riding her ghost hybrid, but I think this may be her finished with biking. Shame.
