Why did you remove the lugs?


Could have done with your garage today spent ages swearing on my back changing my lower engine mount

block has been honed + decked
crank polished

was slightly 'sloped' as standard, so after me and lee worked out we needed 0.1mm deck the block, ended having to do it more!


cleaned all of block, cleaned oil galeriers,



crank fitted with new shells

then checked to make sure pistons didnt protuded the block! at both 1 + 4 0.25mm clearance - so all okay

now just need to get the piston cuts outs done, pistons balanced along with x16xe rods

The rods from the x16 are stronger, (or they look thicker) than the z18 am i right??

So did you get uprated 1.6 rods or standards 1.6 rods with uprated arp bolts?

How much did the bolts set you back Warren?

Seen as my engine is gonna come out tomorrow, figured i might as well fiddle before chuck it in my new shell.

shouldnt fit arp boltsto 1.8 rods, due to the design of the rods they only hold on a few threads. hence why i also changed rods

Warren have you ever run the x12 gearbox on the xe1 engine?, if so just curious how long is lasted lol

Also fancy giving me the dimensions of your pick up pipe while the engine is in pieces, gonna do mine i think while engine out of car.
