Just about to mention that, someone on here mentioned the new upgraded screen size (and resolution I imagine?) will be released so developers have time to upgrade all their apps, ready for the 5 launch next year.
Sounds about right.

Same here, i was due last dec, thought id wait till the summer release and nothing so now its been a year and i need my 3gs gone! if its a 4S i will buy outright, if its a 5 i will get a contract, works out the same amount overall tbh.

Lg, nokia, samdung bring out a new phone with a good spec every 6 months. Apple bring one out every year, you would think they would have something up their sleeves to match the rivals.

They don't need to, look at how much hype surrounds the iPhone. I think they are probably doing ok with sales...

i do like how the glass is a bit more premium,but i dont like the edges. just personal preference really. a nice curved aluminium back would be nice

IIRC they can't do an all aluminium back as it creates a barrier for any signals getting through.
Hence the plastic bottom on the original iPhone, the wee plastic oval on the iPod touches and the plastic Apple logo on the iPads.

mainly cos i'd be pissed at all this hype and no good outcome. If im signing a new contract next month i want to feel like ive got something for it. Not just a slightly faster version of my current 4.
