Imho no if that was a £600 bike it wouldn't have mechanical discs I would expect hydraulic for that. The carrera vulcan comes with hydraulic brakes and that's only £350.

Is it worth it for what I'm gonna use it for tho lol. I'm not planning on going flat out down a mountain side over huge rocks.
I was told today that a 20" frame is good for someone of 6ft tall (myself).

Read earlier in the thread doug went to order it and it's out of stock till April so decided to just upgrade my bike instead.
Eck it will do what you want it for but don't expect a £600 bike as its clearly not

Cheers mate. A £600 bike would be wasted on me so no loss.

Just checked its actually 19.5.
I tried out a 21.5" and a 19.5 when I was buying mine and the 21" felt like navigating a boat. The 19.5 is much more chuck able! It'll vary a bit between makes of bike as to what size is right for you as well. A 19.5 in one make might be equivalent to a 20 or 21 in another

I'm 185cm tall (6'1"?) and my new bikes a 19"
Got home in time for a ride today - absolutely love it! I think I might get a shorter stem and higher rise bars though. But saying that, I did used to ride a DH bike so perhaps I just need to get used to the different riding style.

Are X-Lite still around? Had a really nice set of bars and stem made by them on my old bike.

Just found someone selling a really nice helmet along with some SPD pedals and other bits with an RRP of £180 for £65 delivered. So I have bought it.
What are SPD pedals like? Or would someone like to buy them off me?

Riding with SPDs will actually increase skills levels and remove reliance on having to dab with your foot etc.
Makes for more efficient riding up and down.
Used to ride SPDs all the time and even did in the Alps on an uplift holiday riding a 7" DH bike.

I'm wanting some spds for my road bike. Can you get 2 sided ones though where one side is normal shoe so you don't have to clip in? Just thinking I don't want to take shoes in my rucksack for work really everyday.

Have you got a locker at work? Can just leave work shoes there and ride in and out with cycling shoes.
