Mine only revs to about the same, but it absolutely screams when it's up there. The golf R just sounds like it's going for a walk in the countryside.

The sound change from before the filter to now has nothing to do with that device though?

Inlet restriction delete pipe ordered and on the way next week. So that probably means 3 weeks. Rumoured to add about 10bhp.

Wondering if I should change the badges to black. Only problem is the background behind them is also black so on the boot lid would just look like a black circle. Front would be even harder as the badge has a silver surround as part of the grill so that would also need changed.

My neighbour has just picked one up as his daily. Nice inside and sounds pretty good standard. The grey is a bit boring though.
Rather have his 713bhp rs7

Pic of black rear badge. Just looks like something is missing. May not bother.

Never drove a dsg box before. Doesn't it feel like it take the fun out of driving?

at first I thought I wouldn't like it but now I think it's brilliant, can focus more on steering and braking and chucking it about creating more fun. It's a bloody excellent gearbox.

Nic, does your accelerator have what can only be described as a second stage to the movement of it?
Noticed it in the Seat, thought at first it was catching on the carpet but it seems to be mechanical and annoying. Does it serve a purpose?

nope, can't say it does. It's not something I have noticed as that would really annoy me. I have found myself left foot braking though as my left foot just gets bored and wants in on the action.

Done some googling, might be a kickdown switch? Obviously it's redundant in my car as its manual. You sure yours doesn't do it? When you think you've pinned the gas - push it a bit harder and see if it gives again.

Seems lots of people discover it after several weeks or months of owning the car (based on my Google sample).
Done some more googling about what it might do on a manual car, apparently if I'm driving in an eco or comfort mode - the "kickdown switch" will override the engine/power delivery settings to give me full power for overtaking etc.
It all seems very complicated.
