tell them to GTF with the cancel fee...if you've never had propper service since you've had it then they really cant force you to it. And if you have it on direct debit, then just cancel it and let them swim for it. Just makes sure you have notes/dates about the calls mate, as if they want to get funny you can say you phoned them loads of times and they couldnt solve the problem etc etc

It doesn't make sense, I live next door and my line is in worse condition than yours and my ADSL works fine.
I have a soft-spot for BT since their engineer came out and did something that wasn't his job when the alarm engineer broke our ADSL.
And yes, they can't keep you to the £70 because they haven't provided you with the service that it costs £70 to get rid of.

Would not be paying one penny of 70quid for this saga. Sounds like these cowboys are a feckin joke...without reading the thread throughly and someone may have suggested, but have you tried seeing if ntl or telewest are in your area...both spot on for me and my mates around here in the north east.

If you already have ADSL with another provider...

Already have ADSL with another provider? Don't worry you too can enjoy multi award-winning broadband by simply and securely migrating your existing ADSL service to PIPEX... we'll even pay the BT Migration Fee for you!

N.B. To migrate you will need to know your Migration Authentication Code (which your existing ISP is obligated to supply to you) and the contention ratio and speed of your current ADSL service. Learn more about the migration process. Please Note that migration orders do not include ADSL equipment packs.
