I think 40's and still having enough clearance to put an airfilter on with enogh room to get air to it yeah, not like a nova engine bay with loads of space.

If you really wanted to increase your enigne space would be to shift the engine forward a little and then drop the frotn slightly to give you more roomon th ebluk head engine, whihc would help under accel, but not under breaking.

It's not hard to do modding your existing mounts, the rear mount have some front to back play in it, the fornt left mount can just be spaced under the rubber mount and body to lower it, and I cna't picture the gearbox front mount.
To then pull the engine forward, you'll need to redrill the moutns slightly so they sit on an angle and can be moutned slightly more foreward than normal

I'm going to be doing this on my nova this rebuild, but to lovwer the whoel engine and bring it back closer to the bulkhead to improve the weight distribution.

I beleive my bulkhead has been cut away as the previous owner wanted carbs and there seems a lot more room on mine than other peoples.
Plus i have custom mounts and think it sits closer to the slam panel than others!!

OOO i can hear the
baaaaaaaaaarp already!

Out of interest brad, why dont you just use a std LET power? Maybe using phase 0 software to up it to 230bhp? Use an F20.

Traction is dire in the wet. But other than flat out in 1st, on a warm day i have no problems with 205bhp.

So just spend the money on making it reliable? I dont think itd be as expensive as youd think.

Plus my FMIC isnt that big! Im sure FORGE etc make custom ones? i.e if ui nee certain size/shap

TB's sound amazing would look good in your engine bay all clean. Just thought id pop my 2 cents in too

Cheers jamboroonee,
problem is buy a let and f28, rebuild the let, new hoses clips, pipes, on everything!
Thats the way i am new everything.
New custom intercooler! Phase 2 may as well be put on from start, squished engine bay, recon turbo, the costs grow and grow!

I like to change everything and as my engine is strong and everything has been replaced the way i want it then 200 bhp on tbs sounds more for me.
Plus with the twisty a and b roads near me will get used more i feel!

if your gonna spend 3-4k on an engine why dont you just buy my motor with all the work done. You could sell wot you dont need off mine to bring the price of the engine down

Got to agree with the above really.............

But there is a time and a place for turbo power and a 950kg front wheel drive car that in its basic form is designed for school runs and trips to ASDA isnt one of them!

Throttle bodies all the way, you need to retain some sort of drivabilty!

My old Corsa spec (if i can remeber that far back)
45mm Weber throttle bodies
SBD inlet manifold
Uprated injectors (Cant remember spec? Bosch green?)
Omega pistons with 0.1 litre overbore
Cossie big end bolts
Wrapped manifold (cant remeber make?)
Coscast ported/polished head (think it was a Courtenay CS10 or 15?)
Courtenay cams and pulleys
Webcon management
2.25" JP Custom zorst with 1 silencer
8000 rpm limiter
Distributor-less ignition
Pipercross filter socks and breather
Uprated fuel pump (cant remeber spec?)
Fuel pressure regulator

Think that lot made 181bhp or 191bhp at the wheels?

Good luck pal, try and do as much of it as you can to keep the costs down. You should be able to do everything on the car except the mapping!

Yeh i love turbo cars dont get me wrong, in dads scooby it was ace when on boost i just feel that it wont be worthwhile perhaps in my corsa as its a and b road driving all the time!
Plus the hike in insurance im not even 21 yet so think 280 bhp il be doing it all too soon!

200 bhp N/A power is instant and for b road thrashes i think may be better! Although the costs for a let will be much the same!

You know it makes sense, not only that there seems to be loads of LET Corsas about now, not many 2 litre throttle bodied beasts.
