You are labeling something as something else. Any car will oversteer and slide sideways.

The Rallye is on gravel and is probably struggling for grip so is sliding about.

The Nova is probably correcting itself after the corner. Looks slightly damp too.

Would it be drifting if it was on a conveyor belt?

So now we've got people saying the car only appears to drift?
What if you are standing on a conveyor watching it?
Would it appear to be stationary?

My brother did an amazing drift in my car once, I had to change my trousers

He also drifted a brand new Forrester courtesy car and took it back with bald tyres

i agree with John

Civics, integras etc, some serious drifters use them

its originally started with RWD, (getting car sideways using throttle control, POWER + SLIDING

commonly know as drifting as thats what it looks like, a car drifts across the road

Your point is that you can controll your oversteer with the throttle? Yes you can, but only to get out of it oversteering, NOT to carry the slide/drift

I don't really care what way you try to get out of it tbh.
You can drift a fwd car no matter how many of you say no.

the car is has Pug/talbot sport decals on it, its not a pretend rally, whether or not the two colour schemes happen to have the same grill strip doesnt really have a bearing on the FWD drifting debate.

heres the whole car:

and yes it is running GB plate now

The grille strip is from the rallye, the rest of the colours are unique. Just making a point not argueing! By the way, where did you get the graphics?

Example coming up to a right hander: brake, load the weight to the front wheels, flick left then right, back end should be light and step out... wind on opposite lock and with enough momentum you'll carry an oversteer state through the corner. You can keep it neat with throttle and steering adjustments, but actually powering the slide through the corner is RWD territory.

Think to sum up, you can drift a FWD car through a corner if you set it up correctly on the way in but you're pretty much a passenger, only in a RWD can you vary the degree of the slide for instance.
