Greg, you must admit, lampard has been poor by his standards, he doesnt deserve his place in the team IMO.
Luigi, Lampard has not been like he has been for Chelsea but then again neither has Gerrard like he has been for Liverpool.
This is due to x2 reasons..
1) Neither player can do what they do for their clubs because when they both get forward (which is what they both do best) it leaves the midfiled wide open. This is why we ned Carrick.
2) He has played A LOT of games, think he broke the record infact for most games in Premiership.
IMO dropping Lampard in general (next stage) is CRAZY
Your havin a laugh gerrard has been playing 5 times better than lampard for england in the 1st two games. No I don't think lampard should be dropped at all as he could hit form again really quickly but gerrard has been playing better which is why svens even less keen for him to start tonight and lose him through suspension in the next round.
TBH gonna be low scoring tonight imo.
Lennon is good aswell, everyone need not worry anyway we will change our team around after a bit anyway even if it is working rooney will have to come of probably for walcott though

Go join the Scotland v Whoever threads......

Drop Gerrard OR Lampard and simply play Magilton - job done!
I suggest the midfield to look like:
---------------------------------------
-------------Magilton----------------
---------------------------------------

Although Gerrard and Lampard's goal/appearance records are near enough on a par, I think Gerrard is streets above Lampard both upstairs and general play.

He should have come back home instead of going back home.

I think SXi04's comment was more in ore of watching an ex Celtic legend playing well as opposed to wanting Sweden to win.

i'd have donated my left bollock to the cause if henke bhoy was to pull on the hoops in europe next season, he's that set in his ways he would never have changed his mind though

Shame, he's had enough though and wants to go to Sweden, but I think he's like Cafu, he's not got poorer with age, as he's a brainy player, so pace and agility aren't needed if your that smart.

The cleverest player i've seen at parkhead, very much like Kenny Dalglish in the way he was a yard away before the defender knew about it so pace wasn't really an issue, not that he was slow in anyway though.

I don't mind england getting through etc etc but DON'T want them to win it, not for the fans or players but the fecking press/commentators...they really piss me off...
But i do suppose if scotland were ever good enough to think we could win it might be like that up here, dunno as it won't happen, even if we had a ace team we would never think we would win it.

If we are leading towards full time i'd expect to see theo walcott come on.......
If owens out for the rest of the world cup now, rooney hasn't got anyone else to link up with. Ok crouch has scored goals but he's not your typical out and out striker like rooney, terry henry for france etc.......we would be left with walcott.
Why they didnt bring jermaine defoe i'll never know, if he as on the bench, crouch wouldn't have come on. 1 more yellow card for crouch and we play rooney/walcott upfront in the next game probably...........FFS!
