true, but its pretty much only a remapped 150 engine.

But in that respect would'nt a re-mapped Skoda or Seat just be a remapped VAG engine?

I think i'd have one over a VXR, looks nicer to me. More classy and not so much like a spotty 16 yr old kid designed it. Plus its cheaper and in real world terms not much slower.

888 comes with 4 pots, two bucket seats, stiffened suspension and the tuned engine, 18" lightweight wheels etc. (which as said, is just a remap on the engine).

That OPC interior is from the european AStra. VXR varient (same car) comes with carbon fibre effect where the blue is. Looks much better.

VXR interior is very good, its just the silver plastic on the dash that lets it down as its a bit cheap. Rest of the interior is very very good.

Im not sure why everyones going on about the re-sale. Its not like its a boggo SXI or Life varient or anything, you get a lot more. Thats on both the 888 AND the VXR. Thats why we chose a vxr, it has so many more little bits over the bogo models. I think they will hold their money better than people think, esp as there are so many civics, focus st etc all over the place...... These are the cars that will drop imo. There arn't a "lot" of VXR's on the road. (Saying that, we've got a meet with 111 cars coming so far )

Also, that engine is already remapped, give the VXR a remap, and 4 pots, and the 888 wouldn't stand a chance.

We've got quite a few 888 owners, cannot fault them for having a quickish little car with the advantage of good fuel economy, as thats something the VXR certainly doesn't have

I'd only have a white 888 over a VXR. Although I think the 888's are available in black and silver too, and maybe even red? No Arden blue 888's tho as far as I know.

888 lineup posse.....

And some close ups.....

AS for the interiour pictures, i'll come back to you later.

They are Recaro's, similar kind of bucket to the VXR, but not quite as deep.

Vauxhall don't have anything to do with it (other than agree Thurlby can do this to new cars).

Its a special edition done by another company.

Doubt we'll see a VXR varient as they already have a VXR version, theres only 1 model of VXR for each car. It'll have a different name (Such as the Astra 1.9 CDTi uses the SRI badge).

blandness means it wont date as much, meaning it doesnt need replacing every facelift

look at the Ford Ka, that looks crap now, if it had a VW style interior, it wouldnt

i know, but vauxhall have obviously seen it, and have decided to follow suit, and release a diesel vectra. the SRi has lots of different engines, the VXR might as well, it just means vauxhall will make more money

that white one went done the strip at pvs, did it not? I think the owner only lives a few miles from me. The previous owner of my car has a mk4 888 now and knows him well.

edit: and the prev. owner works at a thurlbys

Sorry, can't see it, VXR is a sports brand. 1 model in each sector. SRi isn't a VXR though. All othe models have options with engines etc, the VXR you don't. You have limited options on VXRs.

We'll see in time though, so no point debating.
