That should be a bit safer......oh, and ANY points in your first 3 years of driving should be a compulsory 12-month ban and extended re-test.

Only sensible way to get around it is to raise the age, restricting power is all well and good but if they wana drive like dicks they will, I could easily have killed myself and others at 17 and nearly did a few times. I'm not saying all peopl are like this but majority will mature a bit between say 17-19 or even just 17-18.

You think those limits are a bit high? I was considering putting them lower, and making the minimum driving-age 25, to be honest......youngsters, these days, are far too irresponsible to drive!

I agree. Also I found insurance essentially limits young drivers from having quick cars, as I got a quote on a saxo vtr for £3800! where as my corsa 1.2 16v it was about £1800 - (though I also believe this ludicrous price is why so many chavs have no insurance at all).

but it's silly in general, a chav in a 1.2 8v corsa (slow as) ragging it down some country lanes could quite easily lose it and hit something else head on!

In my opinion it'll just be another law which penalises the people who are safe, honest people and let the chavs get away with ignoring it all, like they do with tax, insurance, license etc.

Nah bhp/cc should increase vastly from 21-35 then decline again so all you old grandads are back to skateboards

By the time your 30 & are 'allowed' your 600bhp skyline you'll be that used to <150 bhp you'll drive off the forecourt & wrap it around the nearest tree

lessons for a year, are they having a laugh! if the price of lesson dropped a bit and insurance was cheaper id say yes, but i think its a joke tbh! why they targeting young drivers anyway, its those low ridin old grannys they should be targeting, to take a re-test! they are by far more dangerous!

sorry but disagree, theyre doing the right thing targetting young drivers. alot of young drivers ARE dangerous on the roads. its just how theyre going about it.....
the 'good safe' young drivers on the road, will comply and withhold the law etc......the twats who drive recklessly and dont give a shit, will continue to drive cars too powerful, no insurance etc

but i dont think its fair on those people who will be takin their lessons and tests within the next couple of year, like my brother for example, it isnt goin to be fair on him or my parents when it comes to paying like 20 quid a week all year and then 20 for theory and 80 for test thats if u pass first time aswell! if they would lower the stupid prices a bit then i would welcome the new proposals!
