The bootlid on the Saxo is all wrong, numberplate higher than the lights? what were Citroen thinking?
I have to agree with that.
The 106 is by far nicer on looks, but seen as ive driven both of these, id say the Saxo imo, i hate Pug clutches, but im looking for a Pug myself
Get the phase 2 VTs, then you can buy the front Morettes i have lying about in my bedroom, for cheap aswell
youhate pug clutchs? they are the fucking same
both made from rice crispies

Driven both, and to me, the Saxo clutch felt much better, wasnt talking about these 2 cars really, just the whole pug range, my mates C3 is fine to drive, but where as a 206 feels so much different, maybe its just me.

both shagged from standard
The ULTIMATE problem with the GTI and VTS is this:
To get the most out of these cars you have to drive them hard, thats what they were designed for ie rev happy engines. Great fun on track and over the 1/4 mile.
Trouble is they weren't built to handle the abuse and things break frequently. Clutch, driveshafts, suspension, gearbox...the list goes on, multiply this by 10 when lowered etc
Had Peugeot thought about this and built the GTI/VTS with better parts it would of been an excellent motor but at a greater price.....we cant win
Having said all that I fcuking loved mine

Well i've just got a 106 gti, i think it's awesome, i wanted something that was fun to drive and it certainly is that, coming from a 1.8 turbo the 106 is is by far more fun to drive! It's only done 43k and is absolutely mint, already got most of the mods i wanted to do to one, so it's great. As said so many times they are the same car but i much prefer the looks of the 106, i hate the saxo rear end, hate the saxo arches and the interior.

Pics of gold saxo with black wheels ??
This is the one im getting, bit to much gold so the black wheels and i will get a new black grill should give it a bit of contrast.

I do like the 106's but for 2.7k you cant pick up anything decent with low mileage like that saxo.

Dont like the looks of the Saxo inside or out.
106 GTi has much nicer styling. A yellow one would be my choice if I was pushed to buy a french car.

I must admit saxo's are great fun to drive. I'm insured on my mate nicky's 03 vtr and it handles really well out of the box, it's completely standard but you can chuck it about, it aint very quick but you know what it's going to do.
