Standard vs standard there aint much in it ... 106's are a little quicker and handle a little better ... but .... polo is 10x's more comfy and more refined ... 106 for stuff like tracks ... polo for road ...

What sort of mpg are you getting like??


fcuk knows i just spend toooo much on petrol ( i drive to much ) and need cheaper insurance etc

nope 114 lb/ft

106 has 112 lb/ft

106's came in 120 some later models had 130bhp

buy the polo, much more solid than the 106, the 106 will drop to bits!

some had 120 some had 130, later ones had oil coolers and were down on power a little

yeah but the guy i spoke to about supercharging said the later ones were 130bhp.

same as saxo's.

i can tell you now a 106gti is 10x the drivers car a polo gti is

the polo gti is a very good car, and does offer things over the 106gti such as reliability, build quality etc, just the 106gti is a lot further ahead in the drivability factor

the later model were slower as standard though as they were made more economical if thats how you spell it.

i disagree, mine's lowered on spax shocks n springs and it's still very comfortable, it has leather and alcantara as standard which the polo don't!!!

still id rater have the polo i like 106's but driving them on the roads like i have round here they are just plain annoying

and in the summer you have stuff like aircon in the polo

granted the polo they test is a 1.4 16v but i dont think clarkson wouldve had that much better things to say about a 1600 version

comfy
better build quailty
nicer more refined drive

good points for the 106

a bit quicker

i would rather have a decent built car with cloth interior than something with a bit of leather and alcantara tht will always drop to bits

ok but it all depends what you want from the car ...

you shouldnt really be testing out the total handling of a car on public highways anyway
