Quick update. Got a black dash and new loom so i will be fitting that tomorrow into the sport. Along with the air conditioning stuff from inside that car so that will save me blocking up the holes on my scuttle panel.
Has anyone got a set of air conditioning heater dials?

Well i got up this morning ready for a day of work on the corsa. I fitted the new ignition switch, starter motor loom (thanks lee mitchell) modded with digi dash speed senser wiring, all roosesport water pipes, electric mirrors, rebuilt the drive shafts bar one outer cv that i shud have by the weekend.
Then i decided to turn the key, engine turns over but will no start, check it all over and i have no fuel getting to the rail. After chatting to my mate i ran a live from the batter to the fuel pump, still no joy. Tried putting some more fuel in it, again no joy, removed the fuel lines to see if i had them on the wrong way round and alas still no joy. Then i removed the fuel pump cover to make sure i had a fuel pump in there and there was no pump in there! hahaha.
O well i shud have a pump by friday along with my custom gaz suspension and freshly painted bumpers and arches.
Full speed ahead.

Had a call off my mate today to say the shocks had arrived (thanks Dave A).
Here are some pic's of them. They are shorter than standard length gaz ones:

Rick, are they coilovers for the rear? If so, i take it the rear springs are lost and these just go in the place of the shocks?

so u use the rear coilovers in place of the shocks and just remove the old spring and leave the gap there where it was...
this would eliminate the need for turreted rear ends then???

yes, it completely replaces the rear suspension with a coilover unit. I had this kit specially made for Rick but if anyone else is interested then give me a shout

Gaz did do a coilover kit for the corsa but a few changes needed making to them (as I found out when fitting some) the front and rear shock bodys have been reduced in length by around 15mm and the stroke of the piston rod on the fronts has also been adjusted. on the rear shock the same has been done and the length of the piston rod has been increased rather than reduced.

also I had them reduce the distance from the the top of the strut to where the top spring seat sits and increase the threaded area on the strut. this allows you to fit alloy topmounts without the need for huge spacers.

intresting dave, do you have to turret the rear though with these

nope. the inner of the rear arch may need a bit of bashing so that the spring clears it completely without ever scraping.
ieally I would turret the rear and use a longer strut but its not necessary, I have another few sets on order so I cant wait to try them out and see if they are any benefits in having a coilover rear. one benefit is that you can use a much lower poundage spring (200lb) which will help with stripped cars and I imagine that the back end will feel a lot sharper.

I had no choice but too turret the rear the place that needed bashing was the rear frame rail so it would not bash out any kind of clearance.
Ive had the GAZ kit on the car a few year only thing I needed was a shoter spring to get the rear down again ofter some serious stripage
