Looking good Phil. What you doing about the exhaust, using the standard XE one for a bit or have you got a nice stainless steel one made up?

Me and my mate both had to grind the steering rack mounts down slightly or you wont get 4th,

I forgot even though i'd watched my mates get done a week earlier, its a bit awkard with motor in but can be done

Ok here we go: Day 4!

Picked up the Hubs! Shiney Shiney!



Also collected another bottom pulley yay!





Nice new Radiator and Oil cooler fitted!



Hubs ready to be built tomorrow! Waiting for new boots to arrive!



Need to get one bolt for the oil cooler (Lost one )

Plumbing is nearly complete though Got to sort out a bit around the Header Tank... Only the Loom to do pretty much. Looks like a mission

Wonder if we'll get it started tomorrow!

good progress.

I bargained on a week for mine because of lack of experience. It took slightly longer than that, but i actually spent a large portion of that time driving about tring to find parts / get bearings pressed etc.

Yeh I spent loads of time beforehand trying to make sure I had everything! Have to rush out for things like Jubilee Clips, CV Boots, Coolant (Annoyed I forgot to buy earlier ) and getting the bearings pressed, which wasn't too much of a problem after finding a garage that could fit me in!

How Do You Mean Equal Length Shafts Always Thought Drivers Side Was Longer Than passenger Side

looking good so far anyway. remember when i did mine i booked a week off. had mine done in two days then went karting for the rest of the week and just drove about all day lol

Day 5:

Nearly ready to go! Wahoo!

No pics yet - But we've plugged it all in, and got the plumbing done except one pipe for the header tank - Confused about that one!

Spent ages today fannying about in the Scrappy getting a big CV joint. Luckily they had put a 2.0l Astra Sport out this morning, so got to work on that! hehe!

CV Boots have been re-ordered for tomorrow morning. Should be able to get the thing on it's wheels for tomorrow!
