My 1st year at PVS I was staying at a Travelodge and there was a red GSi there. Not one for red cars usually but god it looked good.

Are you having a giraffe?

Personally I see them as a bargain VXR. You still get the kit, the nice wheels, half leather, Aircon, decent chassis and good engine (albeit slightly down on power, but i'd imagine the weight advantage makes up for it), but at about half the price.

Actually does anyone know what the difference in weight between a GSi and a VXR is? Would be interesting to put the 6 speed 'box off the VXR on a GSi and see if it makes much improvement .

The engine in the VXR is different, Daimo knows the spec, Turbo is bigger, different injectors.

z20 net or something i thought it was in the astra vxr? vxr has an extra 50bhp and as rachel said different injectors, diff turbo etc.

yes but that 40-50bhp is easily made up with 400 quid on remap etc

must've been a uk integra gez, a jdm one would horse one

You will have to upgrade it, they come with a side mount intercooler as standard - still at the front of the car but its tiny.

You can buy a full kit from Regal or Courtenay for the FMIC but its £600, my mate got a Pace FMIC and got a local exhaust place to make the pipework up - total cost £330.

You would need a remap to see much of an improvement, it is part of stage 2/3/4 mods.

I will be getting one before I get mine mapped anyway, thats for sure.
