I can't insure a TT Supra unfortunatly, I really dislike MR2's!!! The Supra is slightly cheaper than the pearl Del Sol, but its alot more than the white del sol I may also buy!!

So the Supra is going to be slower than the Del Sol then with it being a non-turbo? I'm guessing it would probably cost more to maintain aswell, and it will get through a lot more fuel??
I think both the modified Del Sol's you're looking at look awesome... as much as I love Supra's, I'm not too keen on the fairly standard looking one you posted and not mad on the colour of it either, plus it's slower etc.
I'd go for either of the Del Sol's!

I'd rather have the Supra, even non-turbo.

Hmmm I'm totally undecided still! I was going to buy one of the 3 today!!
Do you think the Supra will be slower then? 220bhp (I think) and both the Sol's have 170bhp, but they are extra light being the manual roof versions too!!!
The Supra aerotop is like my dream car!! I think the colour will be nicer in the flesh (its Kandy red) I love the pearl sol which is 4k (but would accept 3.6k) and the white one is lovely and only 3.3k (would accept 3k!)
But then like you said, the supe will cost more to run??! And more to maintain you think? I hadn't thought of this!!

supra wont be slower than a delSol.... dont think so anyway...
Worth noting that many times a UK TURBO supra mkiv is CHEAPER to insure over a non turbo import mkiv.
Its just its hard to find UK turbo's and the same prices.
If you can stretch the budget go for that. A supra and civic are in completly different leagues

Yeah thats the thing, the UK spec are hard to come by and a reasonable price!
I would have said the Supra would be quicker than the Sol also!
I know the Supra is a better car than the Sol but I just adore them! And I have become really attached to this pearl one! I reckon once I see the Supra in the flesh I will fall in love! Means a trip up to leicester later!!

I have decided, I'm going to LOOK at the Supra today, and IF I still love it, then I'll buy it, the del sol has more going for it tbh, cheaper to buy, cheaper insurance by 200, cheaper to run and maintain!!!!

Ignore the cheap aspects by the one you want or youll be wasting money anyway.
Mate of mine wanted an impreza for some reason. But went out and bought an astra sport. 3 months later lost a load of money selling the astra because he still wanted an impreza!
You dont have to buy a car today!

Hmm I do reeeally love the del sol though! I know I don't have to buy a car today, but I am very very impatient and when I see something I want... also, the Supra might get snapped up, especially as it's aerotop!!!!

Wouldn't say it would be much slower, if any tbh. 220 bhp for the non-turbo iirc.
Edit: Really should have read the rest of the thread, and AK's post inparticular before posting

The SZ will still do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds & 150mph but still only returns 20mpg, I expect the insurance will be huge aswell!!
Not a cheap car to run!!

Bought the Supra I love it!!!! I had the roof down the whole way back down the M1 and M25 with the heaters blowing it was fine!! I went from Leicester to East Sussex (170miles) and cost me 30quid petrol and it's now empty! I think having the roof down didn't do much for the fuel consumption maybe! Will get some decent pics soon
