thats because it was a corsa lol

no seriously the ibiza is a nice car, and is essentially a better car than the saxo, but when it comes to handling and the fun factor the ibiza wont beat the saxo im afraid

Now do i cam the saxo, or save for something like a ibiza cupra...

Cammed saxo would piss on a ibiza cupra, even with a stage 1 remap i think the saxo would still pull slightly...

Vid of cammed saxo below just to show...

Thanks

Ive owned both saxo vts and ibiza
My standard ibiza could whip saxo vts's, a cammed one wouldnnt pull on an ibiza running stage1 inless the guy cant drive worth a fuck. My mate couldnt beat me in his 106gti with full magnex, decat, forced induction kit and my car was bog standard.
Also for handling, ive got coilovers, front and rear strut braces, and wide ass wheels. Car handles like its on rails.
Much better getting an ibiza and spending money on it, few sensible mods can boost power really well, as you'll know from ben's cupra.

a standard ibiza cupra will not whip a vts lol get real, infact i think a std ibiza cupra has less bhp/ton than a vts

realisticly, a std ibiza cupra will be similar to a std vts, a remapped ibiza cupra will be similar to a cammed vts etc etc

Yeah he said that to me on msn, dont think he was too happy. What you had done to saxo? never seem'd to have any problem with saxos/106's when standard, only thing that could beat me standard was stripped crx sir's.

Does it matter which one is faster?

the Ibiza is by far a better car!

had quite a few saxos and pugs on the rollers at Vsport lately. even with mild cams, decent exhaust manifold and a good remap they see 150ish bhp.

a lot seem too have reliability issues though, out of the 7 people I know with tuned saxo/pug 16v engines, only 3 are on the road.

Well i went for the 106 as i was bored of the ibiza, i had a play with a revo'd ibiza last night and there was nothing in it till we got to a round about and it was "c ya later!"

Chris C said in another thread that he enjoyed his xe corsa as he felt in control compared to his astra gsi, this is exactly how i felt with my ibiza, it's just to safe and you never feel on edge.

I'd say cam your saxo however if your thinking of selling to get an ibiza could you not afford more mods on the saxo? Thought about s/c or t/c? Or even tb's? Or throw the injection out the window and stick it on twin 45's! BAAARRRRPPPP!!!

He's got rev stage2, he should still beat you when yours is cammed. Im running stage2 chip and my mates 106 has stage3 head, manifold, cams, dastek ecu etc and i waste him.

How can a Standard 106 gti keep up qith a stage one cupra? They can't it's rubbish.

Ibiza weight 1100kg.
Revo stage one is 200bhp.
That equals 184 bhp per tonne

106 gti 920kg
120bhp
132 bhp per tonne

How are those figures even close?

Not to mention the ibiza would have around 200-250lbft, and the 106 gti having around 120lbft.

stage 2 doesnt really give you much extra on the vag lumps, maybe 10bh, there isnt much extra boost applied in stage 2, its mainly slightly advance the timing and increase the fueling, hence why you need to uprate the fpr for stage 2

a cammed vts should still keep with a stage 2 ibiza

however a standard vts or 106 should lose slightly to a stage 1 ibiza

like i said before

standard for standard they are pretty equal

vts cammed vs ibizia remapped are pretty equal

Surely cams carnt make as much difference in performance to a remapped turbo!?
