tbf i can't see anyone buying it.

In a perfect world i'd get a cheap diesel and SORN the corsa, keep it as a project and get it xe'd, then after i have a year or 2's no claims get insured and get rid of the diesel.

However with lack of drive space i can't keep the corsa, unless i tidy the garage..which i want to do even less !

A guy at work has mentioned changing all consumables in the engine (spark plugs, leads, lambda etc) wondered if it'd be worth replacing any of it?

Oi you barsteward, Ive said Ill buy it

As for the MPG, 30 in 4th is not fuel economy at all, evarrr.

I used to get 400 miles to £47 in the Corsa. I think your trying wayyyy too hard, I never used to try in the Corsa.

A 306 diesel is not the way forward... at all, they do NOT do 50-5mpg. I really think that a 1.4 conversion is the way forward for you mate.

Those 1.9TDi's arent all that either, had one.

Fuck me they pull like a train on speed, but fuel economy? Not really unless you sit on the motorway at 85< all day long. The 6 speed box just saps MPG out of it as well.

I thought the idea was to increase MPG, because engine revs aren't so high and what not.

The box doesnt just add an extra gear, it makes all the gears shorter to aid acceloration.

Something wrong there. Got that milage easily in my XE Corsa, and that drank fuel. Had 425 miles from my 1.4 16v engine, so yours is definatly ill.

Its all about smooth throttle, smooth gear changes, allowing the car to be in gear and slow its self down.

All the time your in gear and are just rolling, your not using any fuel (like coming up to roundabout, junctions etc).

Smooth throttle control is where the fuel savings at.

u cud try a cheap 1.5td corsa b - i get 300miles out of a tank and thats down to the line before the red so potentially more on a full tank - and thats revving the hell out of it. should return 52mpg when not going for it.

if fiance is the option then corsa c cdti 1.3 35quid for tax plenty off mpg and the price has just gone down on them because of the new corsa coming out.

vag desials are nice but my god there dear to insure even the 100bhp one.

only vag which with proply insure will be the sdi polo but youll be going nowere quick.

as for the corsa i like it when i saw it looks mint for it ages ever thought of a 1.6 gsi engine out of a nova its a simple converson relible engine and a simple wiring loom.
