Who actually cares anyway, you can't race around on public roads, and if you go on a track there would be no contest.

well why do people buy fast cars that hardly ever see a track?because its nice to have a quick car whether it goes track racing or not.

Christ, dont know what 306 you own, but mine is really solid, nothings falling off like you get on corsa's, (heater controls, vents flopping down etc )

No way is a corsa better built, but thats not what this is about .

Tbh ive only raced my one mate who has one not Lukes, and that was from about 30 - 100, he didnt gain anything on me, but then again, i didnt really see my self pulling away, so think it was a good match in all honesty.

so really you have answered your own question. A 2.0 XE is not faster than your 306 so your reasoning for changing does not stand up as yuo wanted that rawness and speed

the 306 is a better car and is as fast if not faster than a 2.0 xe - so keep the 306

I have to agree after owning a Xe and now the cupra...

The corsa aint all that quick...There nice fun cars but up against a mild tuned vts/Gti it can be really close...

I dont see the point in spending 2k on a corsa then getting a runabout, just get a 2.5k corsa & drive it wayhey...no?

I wish people would stop commenting saying XE Corsa's dont handle! Clearly not set up right.

you are right on that note rich, but a well setup 306 would prob have a well set up xe, as its a better base to start from

Ive been in an XE corsa & ive been in a 306 GTi-6 (dont know anyone with a rally but there similar!) & id take the 306 over the XE any day. The XE's probably just offers more thrills because it doesnt feel as safe at speed

I was of the opinion they were the same but the rallye has half the nice bits missing to shed weight
