I know, I hope the redex and the cat help it pass the emissions

1.2 8v would pass the emissions I'd have thought!

It failed on emissions

CO: 4.03%
HC: 794ppm
Lambda: 0.90

Stupidly high

It was cold for two days though, im getting a re-test tomorrow, so will stick some redex in it and thrash fuck out of it.

Possible lambda sensor is fucked?

if it is its a doddle to do
just unscrew the old 1 and refit the new 1 and connect the wires basically as easy as i said it

but im sure i was the 1st 1 to say emissions so do i get a prize ?

Hopefully it passes just with a thrashing, if not ill have to buy a lambda sensor, and wait for it to arrive, want it MOT'd now

Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content at idle excessive
Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content after 2nd fast idle test excessive
Exhaust emissions hydrocarbon content after 2nd fast idle excessive
Exhaust emissions Lambda reading after 2nd fast idle outside specified limits
Exhaust idle speed too high

Everything on the sheet, good thrashing & redex sort it?

Yup, just the above.

Car is still at the garage, im just going to go down, fill it with petrol & redex mix, and sit for 15 minutes revving it

Should work?

Just put it on the governor for a bit. It's been known to work.

I'd be tempted to try a different lambda looking at the reading. They literally sat my car at 5k revs for a good few minutes the other day to get it to come down. You'll have to get the CAT red-hot for it to pass.

A good thrashing and redex wont sort that in my opinion
The emissions aren't just slightly out of the limit, they are f**king sky high

Is the engine standard? The co and hc point to it running very rich indeed.
Did they let the engine/cat get fully warm up?

If youve got a 1.8 injector fitted or something, thats your problem.

I cant really thrash mine unless I illegally drive it, best I can do is sit an rev it.

Needs to be done tomorrow, as thats the only day I can warm it up, rest of the time im at work when it would be getting MOT'd.

Bought a new lambda sensor anyway, will change it if it passes or not tomorrow.

Went back today for another "free" go at it, didnt pass again, but I get to try again, this was a back hand

Got everything fine apart from the CO, 0.20 out, gutted. That was with serious thrashing, redex and the lambda cleaned up.

The 1.4 injector is shitting in fuel, and im sure theres an air leak, so ive ordered every single gasket in the inlet & injector, new lambda, air filter cleaning kit, and some stp fuel injector cleaning.

If it doesnt pass after than, then a new cat is going on.

It WILL pass
