you really need to see the power curve to realise why vtec is pants, regardless of what peak power it makes

who gives a fuck about power curves, get it hooked up on a country lane or trackday and the whole car is extremely rewarding.

you can stay in the vtec range no problem at all, unless of course you can't drive.

172 cup is what i would strongly consider against an ITR, newer and easier on the insurance and dare i say it just as capable?

my friend had one and wanted a dc2 for years and when he finally drove one couldnt live with vtec, he said it was an awsome car to drive and had a special feel to it but moaned about the torque and felt the clio had much more.

there not THAT bad on torque are they? i seem to remember the ctr i went out in with 4 of us picked up well enough and once in vtec was moving rather swiftly...

well, the way i see it, mine was a 1.6 and it had tons more torque compared to a 1.6 106 gti, its just the vtecs have alot more power compared to their torque.

Integras are not that good to be honest and are over rated IMO, my brother has one, and a close friend used to have a modfified one, ive driven and been passenger in them both many a time, and i have come to the conclusion that i would not go out and spend 8k on any Type R Honda, granted they are good, but there are alot better cars out there for the money.

If we are talking about the the EVO Magazine snobbery crowd of cars such as the Integra- then....

A turbo converted Racing Puma or Williams Clio would come in under the 8k budget, which i would much rather prefer.

i've never been in a integra dc2, but if its anything like the ek9 then i doubt much thats standard could touch it on a back road for that money.

why are people comparing racing on back roads? you'l never be able to push a car to its true limits and get the best out of it on a 'back road' anyway

well if theres anywhere on the road to test a car its a good twisty back road.

of course its not like being on track, but its the closest thing.
