Because it's not strictly a sequential 'box, as the gears can be selected out of sequence, for example if you come to a standstill in 4th gear and knock it down a gear, it'll go straight to first, not 3rd, like BMW's SMG system?

quote: The two turbochargers are located on the outside of the engine's V and generate up to 2.6 bar of boost pressure. They play a crucial role in producing the huge torque of 1,000 Nm that the V12 TDI maintains from 1,750 rpm to 3,000 rpm. In developing 368 kW (500PS), the diesel achieves a specific output of 62.0 kW (84.3PS) per litre displacement.
thats from the audi website,
so max torque from 1750 too 3000 rpm

I can imagine it sounding quite industrial. Bit like a cayenne turbo quite muffled :S not sure why.

diesel is good, embrace it
I want to know what it sounds like aswell. Someone made a comment about the Le Mans Audis earlier in the thread so I looked on youtube and they didn't sound bad to me All you can hear is turbo and gearbox noise

Less boost most likely and no straight cut box whine?
