I'm still confused about the removal company thing? Can you not just rent a van?
I've helped my folks move 3 times and i've moved twice and got away with a sprinter for the day.

Removal van is nothing to do with me, I'll be humping my stuff across in my car/grandads trailer.
It was bluecorsa that said removal fees would kill me :?

We'll just use the back of people's cars and trailors for our things, and of course the company delivery vans for the things such as beds and sofas, dont see how it'd cost that much

I'm wondering about phone/internet now - it's something I'll want setting up as quickly as possible.
If I phoned BT sometime in the next week, can I give them the 'heads up' that my new build is due for completion and they can start arranging getting my line put in and getting me a number? I've no idea how these things really work but what's the quickest I could get hooked up/online do you think?

I'd give BT a ring, but expect to be on hold for an age, took me best part of 2 months to get our line reconncted at our student place last year....

I doubt they'll be able to connect the line until the house is actually in your name, but ask the builders and ring BT anyway - best to get it done ASAP as when we moved, the broadband company couldn't even take the order until the line was connected (then was another week before the ADSL went live).

Day one Pictures:
Mine's the one on the left
Mud will all be 'landscaped' some time within the coming months
Entrance Hall (Stairs on the left but camera angle not wide enough)
Bathroom (Shower on the right, cupboard for washer/dryer etc on the left)
Shitter
Sink
Washer/Dryer Cupboard - washing machine due to arrive on wednesday
Bedroom (little door is an understairs cupboard, again due to crappy camera angle you get no sense of scale)
Door back to the entrance hall is that thing on the left of the shot
Upstairs now into the open plan kitchen/front room
Fridge/Freezer will replace that rug when it arrives, microwave will sit ontop of fridge.
Front room has this double door (its got a little gate on the outside to stop drunks falling out)
TV n stuff
You can see where the stairs come up, behind the telly
Ebuyer Spesh
View from the double doors:
Tomorrow I'll be buying desk and chair, and chasing up BT to find out about phone then eventually internet connection.
Bed and Sofa are due for delivery tomorrow, then it'll be a case of waiting for washer/dryer and fridge/freezer on wednesday- then it's all fully livable

Nice...how wide is the doorway of the washing machine cupboard though? Doesn't look like you'd be able to fit one in there without taking the door off or something.

Washer/Dryer slides in, just !
It's very small Kat, no way I could live in there with someone else I don't think - which quite a few people are doing on the estate.
Plenty enough for lil old me though

when I went to see the actual property a day before completion I shit myself, it was just white walls, concrete floor and seemed fucking tiny - thought I'd made the biggest mistake of my life.
But now, with carpets in - pictures and shit on the walls and my sofa and bed in it looks a lot more home like. I forgot the camera today but i'll be back tomorrow for more pics.
The lighting is also really nice in the dark - watched a DVD tonight before coming away (not sleeping there till fridge freezer is in ) and sitting in the dark with the double doors open and the spotlights on was cool as fuck

Cheers guys
Loads of stuff in today, and I've been really brave with DIY - drilling into plaster, using a spirit level and even tiling
Broke my camera though, so no pics yet with stuff in.
Somehow though it feels bigger with things in, when it was just a concrete box it felt tiny

Only one neighbour has surfaced so far, but she's been away for the week I believe, so not properly moving in till this weekend.
