pmsl shows how narrow minded some people are on here, ive seen stuff like this all the time on trackdays
its a well known way of getting round a problem, and why risk getting chucked off a trackday and losing your £150 because you were worried about of your car looked good or not

I think it looks crap. I had to check the date to make sure this thread wasn't started on April 4th.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

You don't even need to read it, however you look at it, it is a totally stupid thing to do. Why not just have a repackable backbox or have a quieter backbox if it just for trackday use. You still have to be pissing around removing it so why not have your car looking ok instead of a pile of dead dogs dick?

No, most people at a trackday would think, "well he could have done that better."

Yeah April 1st, I knew what i meant but just typed it wrong haha.
Maybe it is meant for his mates to stand on for a ride around! I still think he is joking and will post pics on page 4 of it fitted under the car. If not, a good way to quieten it down would have been to pipe the exhaust into the car itself, at least then it would only be the driver who had to suffer.

If it allows him to pass the noise tests at trackdays i can't see the problem.
It was a cheap solution to his noise issues, its not much different to a cateram having a huge backbox hanging off one side of the car is it?.......

Yip, Spoke to them on more than one occasion, but any 'bung' does NOT come with a guarantee. An extra silencer is the only and easiest way to go (and in this case cheapest)
I can't add more baffles to my boxes as they aren't repackable, and I cba lieing under the car at a trackday to change bits of my exhaust either. This takes minutes to fit, with 3 bolts and I don't have to get my hands dirty either.

Is there not another way of making you exhaust quieter, like a custom centre section with 2 silencers etc?

Could have done. but a decent sized centre silencer alone is over £75 (which is more than this thing cost to buy and fit), then I'd need it fitting and fabricating, then I'd still have NO guarantee that it would quieten my exhaust as I need it to.

I've seen floral wallpaper.....
Doesn't mean it looked good. It done the job of covering the walls, but it didn't look good And there was other wallpaper available.
Dave's put that it cost a lot to get a new system, so for a short term it'll do....
But I couldn't ever drive it with that on the back

Nope, just put an exhaust that you know will pass it each time.
Come on James, there are lots of full systems that will fall well under the db limit at tracks.
But as said, Dave cannot afford this currently, so it'll have to do...
But its begging for a PS of some sort
