Newcastle in for McGeady apparently, they're getting linked with half of both Rangers and Celtic teams however.

Total BS story, but would love it to be true

Liverpool have ruined Babel's career so why would Walcott want to go there?

Maybe we could swap Babel for Walcott (bit of money our way though obviously).

What do you make of McGeady, dont really follow scottish football too much but this rumour seems to be gathering more and more pace down our way and I'd be interested in your thoughts on him, especially seeing as the figures being talked about are between £8M-£10M

On his day McGeady is a tremendous talent. He has proven he has brilliant skill, and can use both feet, however I think his delivery is below par sometimes. He has a few things to work on, but has massive potential. For a Tim.

Strachan is quoted in todays Herald as saying he's turned down a £3 million bid

He's a good player with bags of potential but he can't take criticism from anyone and he's now 23 so there comes a time you maybe realise he isn't going to progress any further. Certainly not without a major attitude alteration!

So it sounds like if it were to happen that we'll replace a decent young moody fucker in N'Zogbia with another in McGeady

Good in Scotland, will be average at Newcastle so should fit in perfect with the entire team.

Same point I made on a Celtic forum when asked what club would suit him.

Newcastle because they always threaten to be something more but never quite get there.

What i can't understand is if hes worth £15m how they can only bid £6 for Downing - never massively rated him - good player just not sure hes great BUT I would not say Defoe is worth almost 3 times him.

Thats because Downing's valuation is about right and Spurs are willing to pay double the amount Defoe is really worth.

Downing is average in my opinion, average in that he does his job but doesn't set the game on fire.

Whats to say Defoe won't end up back on the bench at Spurs, least at Pompey hes pretty much guaranteed a place in the starting 11.

I still can't for the life of me see why Downing has so many caps for England never mind being the subject of bids up to £11 million as I heard earlier on.

He does assist a lot I think but any time you watch him you're left scratching your head as to what the hype surrounding him is all about.

Eriksson picked him and so does Capello.

Capello even said he was very impressed with him recently iirc. Maybe he's a good guy to have in the squad, he's far from a stand out any time you watch a game he's playing in put it that way.

Did i hear that Stephen Appiah was training with Spurs at the moment, heard something about him on the news.

Was a fair bit of interest in him in the summer from Arsenal, West Ham and a few foreign clubs

Yeah he is, we've shown an interest in the past as well.

Good player if he's fully fit and replicates the form he did in beside Essien for Ghana.

Recent rumours at out end suggest:

Kevin Phillips
Alan Smith
Shola Ameobi
Andy Carroll
Steve Harper

Not a chance in getting any of them
