Find a private hire company, cheapest possible. Pay for it out of your own pocket & on the understanding that they reimburse you

they weren't willing to sort out a courtesy car for me either as i'm under 21...

reckon i'm entitled to some compensation? e.g. a free service or something? seems it's their fuck up, so why should i ''suffer''

Free beer and blowers in St Moritz for a week I reckon.

Oh and they should cover flights and accomodation too Ben.

TBH Ben I see where your coming from.

When I bought my Lupo from VW, I drove it around for a bit then when I got home & had left it for a few hours I went back out and the car had a flat tyre. I phoned the garage & said to take it in & they'd replace it for me. Whis was a Saturday & they said they couldn't get me a new tyre until Tuesday afternoon (Now i'd be at work so couldn't physically get to pick the car up until Tuesday night)

I kicked off a bit as it would put me out & i'd would have had to get Taxis to work etc, as it was there fault the car had to go back, they agreed to re-pay any of my taxi fares used for journeys to work & back, and to the garage to pick the car up.

They didn't have to do this, but I thought it was excellent customer service & since i've recommened the garage to more than one person who have since bought cars from them.

Couldn't you arrange to collect the car and get the stripe fitted when it comes in stock?

Or would that be too obvious?

Aye, only came to about £25, but that £25 kept me happy. If they hadn't have done it then I probs would have told folk that they messed me about and advised people to stay clear, but it worked the other way and they will have made loads more than £25 with the custom I sent them.

Yeah but it's an inconvenience for him not having his car. If they hadn't have damaged it, he'd have it back by now.

I'd at least expect a tank of fuel or something.

As Joe said can he not wait untill it comes in and get it fitted if its so much of a issue?

might as well kick up a bit of a fuss and try to get free stuff.

a few people on here seem to take things lying down, if you're paying for a car and you're not driving it (through no fault of your own) it does take the piss a bit.

If you were needing the car then i'd of picked it up when the skirts where done and then taken it back in when the stripes came in.

As you don't need it then i'd just leave it.

I had a garage warp the quarter on my Corsa, they didn't even mention it to me and when I went back the next day claimed it was like that when it went in so i'd be grateful they owned up !

As has been said, alot of garages wouldn't be so honest so be grateful for that. As for the courtesy car issue, thats just part of being a young driver.

Everyone goes through it when theyre younger, just got to deal with it
