im getting pissed off with the 3rd mission. ive infiltrated the little village and im defending it now.
i stick a guy on the machine gun to cover the south, i go up into the little hut to pick them off but my other two guys run off so when we get overun they get nailed straight away  and then they come up from no where and finish us off

Im stuck at the exact same point, only got one guy left when i load the checkpoint, its fucking impossible.

kurt, for that one i just sat off on the right hand side of the road (to the right of the machine gun) you don't get the advantage of the machine gun but you've got a pretty much clear shot over most of the area. the enemy tries to flank you to your right so you can engage them well in advance before they get anywhere near coming up behind you

just thinking about the sheer size of the map. is there any time you get a true roaming mode where you can just got and do what the fuck you want without being hassled by objectives?

If you find the helicopter on the first mission there's an acheivement for taking a tour of the island.. Multiplayer has boundaries and only 4 maps

you get more maps as you complete campaugn missions i think. not sure though

Go on online and start a ranked campaign, you can continue your career from there. Much easier with team mates you can physically talk to.

Cant you just use the level editor, to create your own map. Drop a player in, some cars, plane etc and then "test" it and go wandering. What i did in ofp1

I'm stuck at the end of mission 7. I can't see any way of doing it and I have a crap gun with no zoom lens so can't kill anything and my team mates are useless, as usual

My enemy AI stand and do nothing.
Shoot them from 300-400 meters away and they don't react at all.
Played online in a "protect the area" kind of mode, tanks and helicopters, was laggy but good fun.

the first was so much better, this is highly disapointing, the first you had a map editor so you could make levels that spanned an entire island and play made up game modes.. for example on the original we played something called border patrol.. where you had a bridge and one team were "customs" and the other civilians.. and you pretty much just pretended you wanted to cross into the other country, you were searched and your car searched and could even go to jail
there was cops and robbers and all sorts..
the multi player on this is set game modes, attack and hold a waypoint type thing within a bordered map.. not what i was expecting.. in the original you could just find a jeep and take off across the map driving about.. could even drive tractors 
the ai tbh hasnt really changed since the first, its just better graphics and a better command system..
one cool thing though is when you pull out a rocket launcher, you actually have to wait to assemble it and load it
