The point of claying is just to get rid of bonded contaminents(tar, sap etc etc) to prepare for polish and wax, I'd be surprised if you've got any paint left on that bonnet after 3 hours!!. What difference did you expect your neighbour to notice? At this stage its about improving the surface of the paint not the appearance as such. As said you should be able to do the whole car in less than an hour, if your taking this long with the bonnet imagine how long the bottoms of the doors will take!!

Bring on the lower halves of the doors!

Yes Dan and Wrighty, I did wash the car 1st. I'm not THAT daft

I can't wait for the lower doors either

None really. I go over each panel 2 times to make sure that I have got everything. Then rinse it off and leather it dry. Then 2 coats of Mer polish.

Looking great so far. Certainlly worth the effort (although with a car that small, you should have been able to wash clay and polish it in 1 day easily).

What is it? An Arosa?

Looks clean Steve

Make sure you wax it after the polish otherwise the finish won't last too long.

I've got some auto glym extra gloss protection to put on after. I'll do that when all the car is done.

You'll need to put 2 or 3 coats of that on for any decent protection. Apply about 20-30 minutes apart

Looks good so far btw

Polished Bliss will do 5L of Autosmart Tardis for £28.26.
That includes vat and delivery to anywhere mainland uk.

As much as I don't want to drive business away from my brother and Rich, £22.50 is obviosuly a better deal

This is even funnier the fact that its a tiny car!!

3hrs doing the bonnet of a rolls royce would be pretty crazy but an arosa is just mental.

Funny stuff
