Yeah, something wrong with that Mike. My old GSi used to beat Zetec-S with ease and that was standard.

i raced another focus st and a v5 mk4 golf (whatever they are).

was fun at the time until the other focus st decided to go through a red light at that point i called it a day and stopped being an idiot

as for the zetec s, i raced a 1.6 sport in white in my mk6 zetec s and we were dead level.

Engine = Fubarred.

My old 1.4 used to have these without real issues. Like compaing a 1.6 Sport to a 1.4 Sport corsa...

I don't think the MK5's suffer from rust? Not really heard of anybody mentioning it on Fiesta sites, thought they got over that after MK3!

Its quite possible the timing has slipped as the woodruff key on the bottom pully can give and cause the timing to be knocked out slightly. I dont know how mechanically minded you are mate but if you fancy checking, remove the cambelt covers and allign the top two cam pulleys up. Check the bottom pulley and check very carefully that its in line with the timing mark on the block

If nothing seems wrong with it (ie, no smoke, warning lights etc) get it on a rolling road, most charge you £50 and you'll get a power read out, then go from there?
