I find that very hard to believe. I raced a 550bhp Skyline (spoke to him after) on my 636 and it was neck and neck the whole way.
Theres vids on YT of a CBR600RR being beaten by an Astra LET.
Bike would always get the jump, but as speeds rose, the astra pulled and passed and would leave the bike. This was the steel framed version.
Done from 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears. Car would always have the top end.
However, a "currrent" range model 600cc, i.e 2006+ models, a LET would have a very hard chance unless putting out some serious power. Modern 600cc's are seeing 165-175 BOOK mph speed!!!!!!!!
Akeemkins 305bhp LET (stripped, track whoarage) managed 165mph on his stack dash. Anyone running less power won't make it to 160 real speed.
at the dude who said his LET corsa really handles...... Sorry fella, whilst they can be made to go round a bend better, its simple physics. You need to go out or be taken out in a proper handling car. Your opinion WILL change.
LET in standard trim is just enough to beat an E46 M3 in a straight line.
Or go to my youtube videos (user D4MOB) and see how fast a LET corsa pulls on an XE corsa, even though the LET corsa weighs as much as my house.

maybe it can handle ok though. and simple physics aside, lose 10mph on a corner, gain it back quicker than the car infront as you exit the corner. maybe isnt handling better, but over all can go far quicker if you see what im saying.
no point having such a great handling car if the acceleration once out of bends is pathetic.

Shut up mate
My 636 pulls right up at 160, then creeps up to 175 or so. I worked out the torque to be like 700bhp per ton so yeah, no torque.....
Daimo I've seen that, that LET is like 600bhp or something silly though ain't it? Sounds amazing though

Yeah, u'll loose it, but gain it on the next straight
What I mean is though, put say a Integra Type R, and Corsa LET, roudn the same bend, and the same speed, and see which gives you confidence and which one would send the old adrenaline boosting round your system
BUT
Get the bend right in a less powerfull car, and momentum would be great enough to carry on pulling on the more powerfull car who's had a bad exit.
Depending on length of next straight of corsa

how have you worked out your torque to end up with bhp/tonne
your maths must be shocking

i dont really know the answer to any of that. its all unproved internet theories based on people having no knowledge of anything.
your keyboard is the best handling thing youve ever tested i imagine.

nahh, my keyboards like a LET corsa.
Goes in a straight line well, but awful at anything with a bend in it.
I was actually basing it on the missis LET corsa, and from driving quite a few modern FWD hot hatches, including the Teggy
Also the birds corsa isn't exactly setup for the bends
Nic, honestly, you only need to drive behined 99.9% of people and see how they enter a bend to realise its all wrong.
momentum is the key. You can have just as much fun in a dog slow 1.2, as you HAVE to maintain corner speed so you can carry it onto the next straight.
Check out 50cc and 125cc motorcycle racing to see the methodology in it.

Has anyone tested their 0-60 and 0-100 times of their LET?
Just to get an idea how much quicker the bigger power cars are?

0-60? got to be around the 5.5-6.5? Like an XE.
0-100 though should be a couple of seconds less than an XE though? 13-14 seconds i'd say 0-100mph (inc traction issues) for a standard LET Corsa? (given that the 1/4 is done around these times, usually with a terminal of 95-105mph).
The FWD's need a rolling start, but only certain details are recorded.
50-120mph is where you want it
Think Donnas ran a 15.1 but at 103mph. Awful starts (first time ever on the 1/4, only had the LET 1 week ), but the terminal speed atthe end was superb!!!!
So standard - 13-14 secs depending on launch.
