Its all about power to weight (as you say) AND the delivery, i.e. where abouts the peak power/torque figures are and how that power is transfered to the tarmac.

Its not how you stand by your car, its how you race it. You had better learn that!
In racing, its 90% operator 10% machine. Its the same on the road too, i could mince faster cars in my corsa V6, but thats beause im an above average driver, the lesser drivers didnt know what to do with what they had.

you been watching to many fast and furiouse films.
the scoob driver was a pussy in my opinion, even if it only had 212 bhp it would have been quicker than a seh. within reason the driver of a car means everything, i'm not saying a 1.2 corsa with lewis hamilton in would be faster in a straight line than a scoob with a right knob driving it but you get what i mean.

I beat one once, Wrx with a fucked turbo
You will only beat one if its non turbo / they're not racing / they're a shit drive / their car is broke.
I've raced others, sti's, a p1, evo4 and evo7..... got absolutely nailed by all of them, it was like I had a 1.2. Anybody who has an xe and says they beat the above cars are full of shit.

Another thing that people don't realise is an Impreza isn't a top end motor, it's a car geared for acceleration so it'll start running out of puff the silly side of 100 (well, the uk turbo's etc). I really wouldn't mind if Corsa beat me in my Impreza, as I'd still be the one driving the better all round car.
Edit: If I had an Impreza

Agree with your comments at the top of the page as well.
I was once coming on a sliproad and saw an EVO in front of me, already on the m-way. Thought I'd go for it to see if he wanted a little play - When I got along side him (about 50) I put it into 3rd and went for it. For the couple of seconds before his turbo spooled up properly I saw him take a second look as if 'wtf?'
Then I was dust. Corsa XE btw.

Raced loads in my old TB'ed XE Corsa and if you could catch them off guard or drive like a complete bellend you could get the advantage................for about 3 seconds!
Dont think there is such thing as a standard UK turbo now, they have pretty much all been played with! Stage one gives about 240bhp which is 100bhp more than you so you would struggle! Yeah, you have a weight advantage but once your moving it wont count for much!
