* Just a wee update *

Got some chrome Vectra B handles and a Vectra gear knob with a chrome ring subtle modifications but they make it bit more unique along with some Astra G side repeaters and new number plate light from Vaux

Ive also invested in some 100mm rear spring cant wait for them to be fitted but waiting till all this snow dissapears doesnt look much on pictures but cleared most of it off drive

Oh and dirt FTW

Bloody hell I havn't updated this for nearly a year so here goes ...

March 2010 : Had a real problem with power as there just seemed to be absolutely nothing there which later on we discovered why. Anyway , I had to decide whether to break and split the car or repair it and fater looking at numerous re conditions on here I fancied giving it a go. So I sorn'd it and claimed tax back as Id just put six months on it. But because I only work part time it was hard to get everything literally there and then so had to do a bit of saving Anyway ill let most of the pictures do the talking.

Before it came off the road

Kenwood CD player Old school !

10 CD charger a snip at 7 quid fully working bargain

Very Very untidy engine bay

Fuel Filter OLD

Fuel filter new

New plates & some damage where a plank decided to ride a bike into my car parked up

New Timing belt

The discovery of my power loss, the Sprocket lug had been sheered off which led to the timing being completely out hence poor power & major over fueling.

As can see quite badly sheered

So replaced that and the running was improved but still wasn't fantastic

So decided to take the head off and take a look. We soon discovered that the engine had been taken out before as nothing was put back in correctly and was just generally a mess.

Pistons got a very good clean and put back in

So with the head off , decided to take a look at valves and put in some new stem seals. I bought a uprated Reisse Head gasket kit included all gaskets and stem seals and would recommend to anyone as you can tell the stuff is very well made.

However once taken all the valves out we realised that eight of the valves were bent so as i result I had to send the head off to an engineering place to have new valves put and in and re seated along with a good chemical clean.

Old valve and new clean ones

Putting it all back together

There was a few other issues that needed addressing. I had a leak coming from my sump which we discovered a mighty chunk had gone missing

So I had that replaced along with a newer gear box which we cleaned up

I also laid my hands on a 4-2-1 exhaust manifold Which saw me a good gain

New ball joints

EGR Blank which weighs alot for what it is

Head back on and much much better

The next thing to address was my exhaust system as it had seen better days so I bought a new one and attacked my old one with a hammer

New clamps

As well as replacing my Handbrake cable

To finish it off I gave my Head cover a once over and im not a fan but itll do till I get time to respray it

All in all

More to come soon
