I noticed the houses where I live are really well priced, some massive country estates here too. My mum used to work for a guy who used to own Highland Spring, his house was too big for words, might have a pic somewhere.

edit with pic.

The thing is though, the guy has about 10-15 staff. Money obviously brings lazyness, something I'd never want.

You'd need it with a house that size or it would quickly turn into a messy squat!!!

To be fair, he's an international lawyer so is hardly there, he owns half of the village, including a 4 star hotel right in the centre. Extremely wealthy, nice chap though.

Although you'd only use a few rooms.

Living room, kitchen, bedroom, media/tv room, swimming pool, gym, games room, shower/bathroom.

Thats only 8 rooms.

You'd still need to dust and hoover the other 20 or whatever many on a weekly basis

Then theres the garden!!

Nice thought but id rather have something modern and 1/12 the size!!

I'd hate to estimate how much land he owns tbh, then theres's the guy that owns stagecoach busses, he lives up the road. He has his own loch at the front of his house.

£70m certainly doesn't buy style that's for sure tbh, a lot of new mil houses tend to look far too Americanised, >THIS< - just looks like cack.....

I would opt for a barn conversion somewhere in the Buckinghamshire/Oxfordshire/Warwickshire countryside. There are two near to my parents farm that are stunning. One of them is so idiosyncratic; some of the bedrooms have two floors to them with ladders to get up The one next door is just beautiful. There are old wooden converted barns, restored out buildings and a red brick cottage. It's amazing

Literally google'd britains most expensive home, out of interest after looking at the thread, that's what was thrown up.

I don't think I could live in a large period mansion? It would have to me a modern grand designs style barn conversion, with ample space to build a garage so I could nurse a semi over the newly purchased cars.
