Well been a while since I last updated this, car's still going fine no problems at all.

Not much done since the last pictures as Ive been mega busy with work, but took this weekend off and managed to get the rocker and cam covers painted, new rocker gasket and a decent clean and wax before winter.

I also de-badged it, left the griffin and Gsi badge on but may take the Gsi one off aswell.

Soo back to the engine now, rocker cover gasket has been leaking since I got it, so needed doing and whilst i was at it I might as well get the rocker cover painted, was going to paint in arden blue but settled with anthracite in the end.

Came out pretty well IMO, the cambelt cover you can't notice any difference but nevermind.

Booking the car in to have all 4 wheels refurbed, bit stuck on what colour, was either going to be anthracite, piano black or piano black with a blue lip.
Not 100% sure but will probably go for a nice shade of anthracite and not to dark.

The van me and my old man used has been sold on, and in its place now is one of these

A Phase 2 Gsi V6, very nice car with a few extra's aswell, got a few little bits to sort out and a wheel refurb aswell

Looking good mate, getting my snowflakes refurbed tomorrow but im just going silver again.

Wooly mine does on average 34 with mixed driving but you can easily acheive mid twentys if your always on the loud pedal.

Wooly - Cheers mate, depends how you drive it, driving around town to and from work I use hardly any, on the rare occasion I will go for a drive and it soon drinks it.

Pete - Nice one mate, I did get tempted to stay with silver, as they do look great in standard form with a slight bit of lowering on the go, get some pics up when its done mate

lil_g - cheers mate, what you driving these days?

Ben - Cheers Mate, same around these ways, haven't seen another locally, Im pretty much set on anthracite, i know what shade Im after, should look really nice against the blue, anthracite has been done plenty of times on Gsi's before but it does look really nice so Im going to stick with it

Oh and after your pictures Ben Im going big puddle hunting next weekend

Lil_g - glad to see its still going, I looked at a black one before mine, it was a dog which made me walk away but there's some really nice examples around, always wanted a black one with white snowflakes, but red would be awesome, very rare and would be a great buy and they occasionally pop up on pistonheads from time to time.

Ben - Cheers for the picture, does look good and Im 100% on it now

They look good on dark wheels

I had planned doing my snowflakes, but got shot in favour of the 18's

But now I'm changing my mind again.

Im now back to being stuck on colour idea's, I was set on a shade of anthracite, but think they would look great in a piano gloss black (like the Corsa VXR artic wheels are)

Well I will probably pay a visit to the guy who will be doing them just to see what finish he could get.

Only other update is I found out how to use the on board computer finally after owning the car a few months
And average 26.9 mpg which was better than I expected.

Ive settled on which shades I would want, no idea what shade the anthracite is, think it might be the shade used on the Clio 182's

And I would want the black to be a proper gloss piano finish if possible

Either this:

Or this:

So whats your opinions?
