I thought we'd covered this bubble, when you get 100% clarity it'll already have been leaked by a chinese manufacturer.

They're going to have to be some good accessories in order to make up for the loss of revenue from Xmas purchases.

bubble, do you know or heard much about the possibility of early upgrades for the iphone? im just about 12 months into a storm contract at the minute, if not are they going to allow customers to stay on existing tarriffs and just get an iphone as an upgrade?
i know you wont know everything and what you do know will be hush hush, but a bit of a hint wouldnt go amiss

you obviously know my cdct job inside out, plus having to sign c1 nda's, then telling corsasport 3 months before it happens would be classed as gross misconduct, and id be out the door.
lee-wee, yes we are looking into doing this. if over 60% of people who are within last 6 months have already achieved our recquired arpu figure, then yes its a possibility.

ARPU (average revenue per user) is a pretty standard term for calculating the performance of an operator. Although from what i remember, it's a pretty shoddy way of calculating it and it tends to be used to make things look good rather than being accurate as it can easily be fiddled.
edit - just to add, it's something like the total revenue during a given period (usually monthly), divided by the average (usually estimated for that same time period) units (phones or subscribers etc).
I'm sure oRobBo can share some light on this.....

average revenue per unit is the divised result of what a network has gained through customers. so if 10,000 customer spend 100,000 between them in a year, the arpu is £10.
they will look at individual cases, most definitely, if a % of people who have less than 6 months to go on a contract have an arpu figure combined that shows satisfactory profit, we are more than likely to do something.
also given that our nps score (sorry john and joe-another acronym i have just had to research) is pretty low (9.8%), and o2's is pretty high(29.8%), it will seem that we will do anything to improve the net promoter score.
so, if you rang up and said "ooh i have seen the iphone on voda, but i have x amount of months left, what can you do?", the chances of them saying they cant do anything is remotley slim.
however, seeing as i am only a "tea boy", and i get my info off the internet, i wouldnt believe me lee. although, for a "tea boy" i have helped a lot of people on here through u2u, if anybody else wants anymore tea making, just u2u me.

It's half and half Robbo. Yes they are dealing with customers day in day out, but at the same time, people who work in currys don't really know anything about tv's.

Granted.
I've known the iPhone deal was on the cards for a few weeks now, we got confirmation late Monday altho early Monday we assumed it was all off as we were under the impression that it was Orange/T-Mob vs. us rather than both!
