Right heres the results for the first week (appologies for anyone who was planning on entering later today but im up now and i wont get chance at work so i thought id sort it now).
Firstly it has bin suprisingly hard to choose a winner was very close between first and second for me.
Secondly this is just my opinion on the photos so no arguments about my choices otherwise it just ruins the fun of the game.
1st place Congrats to Cavey
The selective colouring worked really well and i loved how well it worked as sometimes it can be a little ott
second place - Andynumbers
Just love how sharp the lampost is, like i say you were very nearly 1st place.
3rd place MattK
Love the background and like the idea of using a bag on the flash (ps email the people at lee filters they will sendyou free samples of the gels you get loads off them)
4th place - dave - again selective colouring worked well but a bit too much empty space in the middle for me, if that makes sense.
5th place - Neo - Like how sharp the middle is but the only thing that bugged me with it is the words 'playing cards' if they have of bin sharper as well then would of bin alot better.
6th place - Viperx - like the picture but just lacked the punch.
7th place - am4nf (sp) - Nice picture but a little underexposed i feel and ever so slightly out of focsus.
Again dont shoot me down its only fun and its just my opinions on the matter, dont mean to offend anyone with what i have said and its all for fun so dont moan  .
and appologies if i have missed anyone out, and appologies to whittie as i didnt include your shot as it didnt meet the rules (uploaded july 08 )
time for cavey to set the next challenge to be set .
I will update the thread when he posts what the challenge is.

Grats Cavey IMO the best picture won, so come on what's the next theme. (Honest im not impatient)  . Lets see if I can move up a place next time. 
Also thanks to Matt L for starting this thread, all a bit of fun and can't wait to get started on the next theme, hopefully can do it.

I quite like that joe sorry i did the results last night.
only thing i have against it is the backgroud is a little busy (i like the box/picture in the middle of what looks like another toy, but to the left and right is just a little distracting for me.

Overtime took a lot longer than I thought it would! Literally just got home, to come on here and tell you the next topic, then i'm off out again so...
The reason I entered this was because I needed inspiration, and couldn't think of anything, but i've had a few hours, and a girlfriend who suggests stuff so....
This weeks is....
New and Old.
I'm after in one photo, a contrast between new and old.

Doesn't have to be the same things, can be regeneration of a city with old buildings side by side with new.
If that's too hard then "Bridges" Off out for a couple of hours so i'll let people stew over those
