FYI anybody planning an upgrade for Sage ACT! make sure you have service pack 3 for XP installed. we went through 2 machines before we realised this

ACT is a database made by sage, and its been a complete twat for us. for the client machines running XP, SP3 has to be installed otherwise it fucks your installation of windows and will just bluescreen from now til the cows come home. only, we tried it one machine, it fucked it so we reinstalled windows and it worked fine. so we thought, okay maybe it was just that machine, so we tried it on another and got the same problem
