This is why private collectors and such will not lend cars to TG

Was just reading this article, Top Gear could get dragged into it quite easily I would have thought

Do people genuinely care about the lap times? Assuming the guy is moaning coz they said the replica car was shit and will damage the reputation? Surely its great publicity, I'd never heard of or seen the replica things and I'm sure there are many the same.

People need to get over it and switch off if it bothers them that much, of course its going to be scripted you can't just bluff an hours worth of tv off one take. Jesus people are cunts.

Wasn't the issue just that they mixed the tape together to make the lap 'more interesting' therefore the fastest time will still be accurate?

Was a let down on sunday, the only good bit of the show was the lancia's. The pratts talking in the background wernt funny or entertaining.

The kit version did not sound awesome Clarkson, it sounded like a mondeo v6

Saying that if i had the money for another toy i would have one next to my escort in the garage straight away.

Awesome car that still puts a smile on my face at local rally's each year

Thats exactly what I thought. If I had the money to buy something like that I'd go out and do so now now I know they exist. I bet there are plenty of people in the lucky situation of being able to do so that were watching aswell!

They didn't fake a lap time either, it was clearly a piss take.

It's also a production car board is it not?

Yea but you can easily get a test drive in a 308. How often do you get to see or test drive a supercar.
Thats why i love the show. If i want to know about an affordable car, i will look on forums, or testdrive it; if i want to know about supercars and hear them roar past ile watch top gear.

You seriously didn't think that after he had spectacularly spun, then caught, the car twice on the one lap, when they've never used a lap like that for any previous car then stuck it up, even not taking into account the tongue in cheek nature of the rest of the show, that they meant that to look like a proper 'power lap' for that car?

I don't see the problem TBH, everyone should know the car was deliberatly spun out and the car parts were obviously loosened, people take the program too seriously.
Nobody know anything about that stratos, so for all anyone knows, it could have been build in a shed and if people do know the car, they will know it was build professionally.
The guy is well over reacting.

i honestly cant believe people are thinking that lap was genuine.....

not think that they have spun out on laps with other cars before? bbut they just dont show that, they did it on sunday as a laugh....

people need to lighten up??

the guy lent TG his kit car, he should have been willing to take stick for it, same as if i lend them my old redtop corsa, i would expect clarkson to have a go at it.

Anyone remember when the Aston Martin DB9 GT and the track orientated Jag XKRR were on? It's a common repeat on Dave.

Clarkson was driving both around the track and they were both fine. But before they managed to put them round the track Jaguar took the XKRR away to 'refine the suspension' or something equally bullshit. It came back with the handling totally fucked up - surprise, surprise since it would probably have beaten the Aston, which cost 40k more or something. And that's from years before they started fucking about as much.

Was that proven though or is that not just the VXR fanboys being bitter because it made their cars look bad? (No bait)
