Poor network rail people would of had to go and scrape them off aswell, we have to fill out a timesheet, with codes for what you were doing that week.

Theres a code for human body removal

Are you joking? The train driver was - through no fault of his own - driving the vehicle which killed two people. How can you possible call it a farce that this person should be compensated? I would guess he is very traumatised by the entire incident, his inability to stop or change course of the train, the images of death, damage, the noises, crunches, screams and desperate actions of an incident in which two people won't be at the dinner table that night.

I would guess he'll be off work for some time, perhaps even unable to return. And if that means his family need supporting via other means then compensate away. This guy is the innocent party here and while I sit at a computer congratulating the death of criminals, I don't think I would be so happy if their deaths were of my doing.

Couldn't agree more, alot of train drivers never return to work, some come back the next day, people cope with things differently. Until you're in that situation you'll never know how you'll react I guess, I've no idea how I'd react.

A train doing 70mph is going to take a long time to stop.

Fuck them, the justice is a bit harsh but I have no sympathy for them. I feel a bit worse for there families. I hate theives, i've had stuff stolen from me before and it's not a nice feeling, it doesn't matter if it's a business or not as they could still have to make redundancies due to bigger insurance premiums at renewal time.

LOL @ pix

@ Andrew - yes train drivers know that one day they may possibly run someone over in their trains, but how do you expect to prepare someone for something like that?

If you run someone over in your car today and kill them, and you are in a state of shock, what would you say to people if they said "well you knew the risks of driving a car, you're bound to have an accident some day, move on blah blah etc."?

Oh yeah, the post...

No problems. tbh, if they were prepared to ram raid a clothes outlet on quads, cutting fences, they orgenised it...

What else would they have done if they got away with this????

Feel most sorry for the train driver. No remose for the families. Should have brought their kids up better.

Im imagining it now.....

Did the quads just get sucked and squashed like a tomato..
Or
Did the quads get hit and bounce forwards like a ping pong ball and get destroyed that way.

Discuss?

I got no sympathy for them as their shoplifters, hence why I'm in retail security.

Weather it's £10 worth of food or £120 worth of cashmere they get caught and booked.

Least Cooper won't cause me anymore hassle, nickname was per-una man IIRC.

I think people on here need to get a bit of perspective.

People are actually GLAD that these people died after robbing a shop. I don't know about everyone else, but if a friend, family member or someone I knew died after doing something, which in the grand scheme of things is FAR from the worst crime imaginable, I'd be cut up.

Fine, these guys chose to do it and if they didn't do that then they wouldn't have died and I'd obviously agree it was their own fault - driving a quad on a train track isn't exactly the safest mode of transport. But in the same breath I'd say it's morbid to say they deserved it.

but they did deserve it - in what possible explanation of what they were doing could you even try to explain they didnt deserve it?

That begs the question of if the laws/punishments are strong enough, which is a separate issue. According to 90% posting in here they got what they deserved.

If they had just stolen a pair of jeans in a plastic bag then fair enough, but they just ram raided a store and stole thousands of pounds of merchandise.

They are scumbags and are now off the street.
