My C&P'd post from R&B Net:

Very, very proud to be a York fan today. 4,000+ fans singing their heart out for the club and made the awful journey to the Britannia. 4 and a half hours it took us from Selby. God awful.

I thought we looked fantastic against what was a full strength Stoke side. When i saw the line up i thought we were going to be in for a drubbing but Stoke were very disappointing. They are boring, 1 trick ponies. Unfortunately that trick they have is very effectful. They are all about set pieces, everything else (passing, movement etc) was just terrible. Im not sure i could watch that for a full season.

We on the other hand played some nice stuff at times, great determination from the lads who were all willing to get stuck in to win the ball back and put Stoke under pressure. I received a text from a Luton supporting mate who was watching SSN and he said the guy commentating on the game for them couldn't tell who were the BSP team and who were the Prem team. Fair comment i think, more so in the 1st half at least.

MOTM for me was Rankine. Faultless performance really, held up the ball extremely well and gave plenty of effort. Brodie was disappointing but that could turn out to be a good thing if scouts were watching.

End of the day we have been undone by 3 set pieces by a team who base their entire game around them, we didn't get dominated and we certainly gave them a good game.

shame for carlisle united. manager from my work and a few mates went down. they said the game itself was pretty decent.

good effort carlisle. scoreline favours everton too much by all accounts.

newcastle, well, another game another lack of goal. although an away cup draw isnt the end of the world. hopefully win the replay at st james sports direct park united ground of brown ale.net

Aye, drop ball ftw.

And what happened to them always being properly contested. I hate this shite where they give it back. Fuck that, get in there and kick each other.
