You get the 1.4? 100bhp? If so one of my mates has one, RRd it at 102bhp standard, now 120bhp with catback, filter and Revo map, he's got a supercharger to put on it at some point too

build thread is here http://ibizaoc.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=466

Mine came out at 110 bhp on the rollers at awesome gti.

At the time it had a de restricted airbox and a pipercross panel filter.

Aparantly most VAG cars are under rated on the bhp figures they give. Thats what was said on the day.

Bonney- from those figures, yours was down on torque but up on power That Black one is running 119bhp and 107lb/ft so 17bhp and 15lb/ft up from standard

I've got something creaking (really loud creak/groan/squeek type thing coming from the front end) now atm while manoeuvring at slow speed - no idea what it is, and I daren't look tbh.

I'd like to trade it in for something slow and cheap tbh, but I'm skint - and praying this thing doesn't break any further.

Mine is a TDi FR btw, 04 plate.

My theory is that the engine is too big for the car. It was designed for 1.2's, 1.4's and 1.4 diesels, not whacking great 1.9 diesels producing 130-150bhp standard.

Mine used to knock at the slightest HINT of a bump

I'm convinced all my problems started when I remapped it though, so I'm hesitant to blame Seat

Seems you have your own reasons for hating on it though

I want a nice quiet polo or something, i'll never take it near an aftermarket part or a serial cable - I swear

Ibiza's had 2.0's in back in 96!

The knocking was probably the bushes gone

Thats the front wishbone bushes creaking. A quick fix is to soak it in wd40, then get a can of white lithium grease and give it a good coating.

As for the knocking, that will be the anti roll bar. The clips snap on it and you might as well replace the whole anti roll bar.

Diesel blocks are far heavier!

I got under mine a lot and once hung off the ARB and it was fine

They just dont strike me as a very good car, the engines are lovely but the car seems a bit unfinished to me.

I also HATE the way you can feel like a little kid in them because the windows are soo high!

Basically, If you look under the car at the front, You will see on each side 2 "Y" shaped peices of metal. There will be 1 large one towards the centre of the car and 2 smaller ones towards the wheel. Just spray all of these. Makes it easier to do if you remove the wheel.

When i used to do mine, I used to give all the bushes a good soak. Only had to do it every couple of months as I couldn't be bothered to pay someone to do the work on it

I had a mk3 Cupra. Loved it.

I miss it now. Saw one the other day and it made me want another.
