Why does it have to be newer than 2000?

Because older than 2000 is over 10 years old now and will cost for the bits that fall off.

I've had more bits fall off my 05 plate BMW than any of the cars I owned previously to it, including a C reg Nova.
10 years old doesn't always make something shite.

In general the newer one will need less work done, unless you buy a lemon.

You'd soon change your opinion if you worked with 'reliable' modern cars all day.

I wouldn't, I'd realise that people bring modern cars in for warranty work every day and that doesn't mean that modern cars are worse.

Oh, a Sport, yes. Not in my budget though.
It seems 'next generation' cars i.e. new Fiesta, Corsa D, Swifts, Grande Punto's are just out of budget. I best get saving.
