Or if you presume it's kids doing it....Hide in the garage or by the door in a peado bear outfit and chase them in it

Get one of those sniper's hide things Davey, plus a balaclava and a big fucking stick with a series of shit coated nails in the end.
Then play the waiting game.

Put a dummy camera up and stick a note to the anchor saying smile you badgers, or something.

btw good idea about the floodlight and camera. Camera looks placed high up so that's good. We once had a camera on the front of our house, quite low down to see visitors as the area wasn't TOO bad then...and it got ripped off by drug addicts from the local flats. Ironically, one of which, died from an overdose months later and got carried out in a black body bag.
Now the cameras up higher on the building on a fixing and watches my dad's van etc. The floodlight is usually enough to deter any theives though.
Hope your bike is ok from now on

Not to put a downer, but how goods the camera quality when the lights on?
Not much help if you can't make peoples faces out?
What about adding a mini speaker, so when people walk past you can shout BOO at them?

That camera is actually far far better quality than that, the network streaming takes a lot out the quality!

that's good then. The old one at my mum's has been used in the past when reporting knife brawls on the street etc and the useless police, despite having the people arrested in custody, say the video quality is not good enough when they're wearing the same clothes etc.
I hope you catch them and fill them in

nah, just a shithole tbh
lol but thanks anyway
the whole story is (but i couldn't be arsed explaining):
someone was trying to nick the pushbikes out the back garden, a chav was in the garden, then my dad heard him, who was asleep downstairs, was opening the back door to go get the kid, when the rest of the chavs outside the gate, kicked the gate in to let the other kid out, then my dad chased them, there was over 10 of them from the age range of 11-25 (what parents let kids around 11 years old out at 2-3am? ridiculous)...anyway my dad got punched in the face by one, then another guy pulled out a big knife on him and threatened him with it, it was all on CCTV from the house (we have cctv and floodlights back and from at my mums house due to it being a mostly council area with council flats nearby) and being recorded on VHS, as it always is, but after the whole incident, it was reported to the police and they said the CCTV was not good enough. Also, during the incident, the police were called and were at the end of the street, there were 2 officers and because there were so many yobs/chavs, basically the police stood there and did nothing, despite knowing what had just happened about them brandishing a large knife etc and the yobs threw stones at the police...but hey yo, that's grimsby for you and that's humberside police for ya
lol btw GaryF, I don't expect you to believe this one either

Its a COP Secuirty DVR, 8 channel with DVD recorder and 300gb hard disk.. Few hundred quids worth, cant remember the make of the camera its a colour camera with IR illumination for night vision... We rigged it all up using BAULN's so I could run the power/video/audio feeds over a single cable, I could run 2 cameras with power over one single CAT5 cable or 4 video signals on their own.
I've just configured the movement sensor and its brilliant! It can record for a given amount of time when it detects movement and trigger an output to activate an alarm or turn on a light
