When did you start skating? We came up with a novel way of folding out hockey socks inside our skates to make them more comfy on the turn, not the puffer socks the proper hockey ones. I had blue and white socks with pink and black Hubs and Abec3 NMB bearings with the wheels done up super tight so that when you skated it was hard work but the noise the wheels made was

probably about 15 years ago. My bro was a steward at the Magnet in Maidenhead, and I did it a few times too. It was all about fluorescents back then
I remember going just to meet and kiss girls.

1996/97 was when I was skating so probably about the same.
Loved it, that's what mashed my knees up though from too much skating.

Skating to music deffo helps. I remember when I started to learn I had a pair of old rainbow skates my sister had from the 80's and every Saturday morning before everyone got up I went to the top of the road and practised then eventually I got decent skates with decent wheels and it made a hell of a difference and from that it was easy.

Trying to play street hockey on tarmac was ridiculous, all you would do was scrape the hockey stick on the floor.
Me and my mate had Bauer ones and they were wood and if you hit the ground too hard they would splinter
Tom, I've always said that being that I can ice skate and roller skate/blade I would be able to ski, is it similar?

Now and again they would play DnB and that was it, I went mental. It was usually Jungle Mania 1 or 2 and it was usually Original Nutter that was played but that was good enough

ollie its very similar, well the basics are, balance and keeping your feet in line.
playing street hockey we use to go through so many sticks, those were the days of having grazes on every part of your body and ripped clothes

I remember having one in school and the teacher asked me to demonstrate the recovery position.
it wouldn't go away, no matter how much I thought about ugly people or football
so I waited as long as I could and walked up in the hunched position and dived onto the floor. By that point it had already gone semi.... not sure if anyone actually noticed
