tbh my st was fine. the only problems i had with it were due to my own idiocy (blew a fuse changing to led bulbs, abs sensor messed up because i broke it changing the springs).
only problems i had were with the sideskirts not sticking to the bodywork properly, but took it back and it was fixed in a day, and they gave me a free service for the inconvenience.
the 5 pot volvo lump is already proven to be a very good engine.
of course it's no cosworth but it still attracts people because of the rs brand and heritage.
go out and give one a try before slating it because its FWD and not made in conjuction with cosworth.
times change, things come and go.

it was fwd to save money. Fwd exists to make production cheaper. That is all.
The best most capable fwd car is still fundamentaly flawed.
This by no means they are rubbish, just dont kid yourself into thinking its there for any other reason other than cost.

i agree jambo, as i said, not just for cost, but they could've done it but decided it didn't need it.
4wd isn't the be all and end all. if it was, all supercars would have it, but they don't.

it's nothing to do with that, it's just people who have never even been near one slag them off because they are FWD and apparently don't match up to the legendary cossies of the olden days.
people want everything for nothing nowadays.

Plus in my experience it's the people who comment about 4x4 who have not even driven a mk2 FRS, and for that matter probably not even driven a cossie either tbh
Forgot to say the mk2 Focus RS500 is also in this months Top Gear mag too

Well technically you could argue that all the RS engine's are different mk1 frs, mk2 frs, cosworths, fiesta rs turbo, fiesta rs 1800, rs capri, escort s2000, rs1600, rs200 etc.

What Jambo Said.
You cannot defy the laws of physics.
Subaru ending their association with Prodrive in 2011.
Replacement is COSWORTH.
Cosworth fettled STI`s (especially if we get the new saloon) will = uber pwnage.
Starting with the STI Cosworth 400 which will have 395 bhp, 6 pot AP`s ,suspension upgrades over the normal STi.
Rumoured to be £40k, its where my money would go

Sorry but seeing COSWORTH under an STI badge makes me cream and yes I am aware that Litchfield have already used the short blocks in their Type 25.
