I agree.

What BHP is yours running then mate? I put a 4 into 1 branch manifold on mine and it didnt really make a difference.

Ive got 4 into 1, cat back powerflow, vx inlet and a BMC induction on a 1.6 and it only managed 111.5BHP i was proper disappointed

ive been told you are best to get it remapped after fitting a power box to get the most out of it.

as you say. Deluded.

I've had both? I loved how my Corsa looked, but the Fiesta is a much better looking car. The Corsa is a dated car, it's to be expected that newer cars are going to look better, more modern design etc.

I don't even own the Fiesta anymore. I'm just pointing out that saying an ST is 'slow' is quite a bold statement to make and not true. Just because an old Corsa keeps up doesn't make it slow. An old Porsche Turbo would easily beat an ST, does that make the Porsche a better car?

Was thinking the same? Its my opinion, hate the look of all budget modern cars. Flat arches, large round arses and eco engines, Dosent do it for me at all! The fact that if something goes wrong in a more modern sensor loaded motor, its a garage job with a healthy bill and the end of it. Ecus especially as they are up in the thousands for a replacement these days I personally would rather buy anything pre 2001. I think the only sort of modern car i will end up having is a audi when i can afford to get one and when i grow out of working on older, simpler mechs.

I would rather have a more modern car with luxuries and comforts then an older car. I have never owned a car with an ECU problem nor know anyone to pay thousands for an ECU

The seats in my car are comfortable enough for the use it gets.It has heating and full electrics. I take it you must be talking about the drib and drab of cow hide, silver plastic and rubber on the dash, control panels and other upholstry. As for ecu problems i've heard a few horror storys and most replacements being over the 1k mark for a new one orverging on 1k for a second hand one.

no problem graham. At end of day its a cheap old corsa or a new expensive ford and people like what they like. No point arguing personal opinions.

I would have said handling was more fact than opinion, but I shall leave it there

And Jack I can see where you are coming from, however faults like that are so rare I've personally never heard of anybody having to pay for a replacement ECU. It is quite annoying having to pay for Diagnostics if something goes wrong (which I never have) instead of the simple paper clip test!

However just to be a smart arse, the Fiesta doesn't have flat arches

I dont think the fiesta's have more luxuries than the corsa i've owned both, and my corsa had more luxuries than the zetec s, like electric heated mirrors ect. And on the ST issue i think a slightly tuned corsa sport could keep up with a standard one but i think as soon as you come across a derestriced ST, i.e a full exhaust system and a remap i think it would be a different story

For an N/A I wouldn't say so, but fair enough.

Is your Cupra a Cupra R btw? That's like saying my car beats an ST by miles, but then I have a snail attached to my engine and 116bhp more than one.

Well in that case a whole lot cheaper than i would be to buy a shitty fiesta ST,thats including a full respray, engine and all ancillaries and all the other bits and bobs on it,i.e cage, recaros, wheels suspension etc and this is mainly because its never seen a garage yet and all the mechanical work can be carried out by myself. Cant imagine a fiesta st will be as fast or as fun to drive. Bit of a shit comparison to bring up tbh. Both in different leagues of there own.
